[_Lucy's POV_]
"What? Why would you have to talk to me?"
"Because you're the only one I can talk to." He stares down at the multi-colored carpet floor.
I give him a questioning look but he didn't see it. I shrug and say, "Alright let's go."
"Really?"
"Sure, why not."
I walk over to the racks and grab my purse. He hesitantly follows me while I go tell Jason that I'm leaving for the day.
I walk out the door and say, "I don't know why I'm doing this Dragneel... But let's just get this over with."
Natsu never looks up from the ground while we walk down the streets. Suddenly he walks in front of me and starts leading us towards the park.
"Well?" I say once we stop by the lake.
He's silent.
I pause then say, "What did you want to talk to me about?"
And in the quietest voice he says, "I don't know what to do..."
"Well you are no different than me then..."
He looks up at me with sad eyes.
"I don't have a girlfriend anymore. I don't have any friends I can trust..." He says in a tiny voice.
"You really are a mess aren't you." I laugh.
He chuckles, "I guess so."
"But you're no better off than I am..." I look down.
We sit down on the ground looking out over the lake while the sun sets.
"I remember the first time I saw you. The first thing I thought was 'Dang, look at the blonde hair.'" He says looking at the ground.
"Yeah, I remember the first time seeing you and thinking 'Wow look at that dork with the pink hair.'"
He laughed and then looks out over the lake.
"You never let up with the insults do you?" He sighed.
"Well that's kind of the point right. We're rivals."
He grimaced, "Guess so."
"You know even though we're so different we're actually kind of similar. We've both got broken hearts, right?"
"Yup..." He whispered.
We sat there in silence for a few more minutes. Then I said,
"Why don't we make a club?"
