It Was Always You.

Chapter 12

(Adrien's POV)
Did I want to be at the ice cream shop with Chloe? Nope. I mean we are friends, but sometimes she can just overwhelm me. She's changed a lot in the past couple of years. I sighed.

"Adrikins." Chloe said.

"What is it Chloe?" I said in the most not annoyed voice I could use.

"What ice cream do you want?"

"Oh well I'll-"

The door opened. Nathanael and Marinette walked in.

"Ew. What are you two losers doing here." Here we go again. I was about to tell Chloe to stop when I heard Marinette.

"Well Chloe this is an ice cream shop so.. I assume we're here to get ice cream." Wow. Marinette talked back to Chloe. Don't get me wrong, I know Marinette can speak up for herself and her friends. It's just i've never heard her sass back like that. She only looked at Chloe. She must have not realized I was there. (AUTHOR THINKS IT'S WEIRD TOO)

"Oh hi Marinette, Nathanael. I didn't expect to see you here." I said smiling at them.

"O-oh yeah, I came with Nathanael for ice-cream." She looked towards Nathanael. He had this sad look on his face. I had no idea why.

"It was nice seeing you. I sadly can't say the same about you Chloe." Marinette walked back towards Nathanael. Everything was okay.

"Wow Marinette." I spoke too soon.

"You come here with a guy who likes you, and you leave him to talk to your crush. You were always good with wasting other people's time." Chloe said. Here we go again. I rolled my eyes at her.

"Chloe leave her alone. We were just here for ice cream and there's nothing wrong with Marinette talking to her friends. Besides that's all, me and her are." Nathan said.

"Listen Nathan. I feel bad for you. You chose to have a crush on a girl who will most likely never like you back. She likes Adrien, and it's so ob-"

"That's enough Chloe." I said. Chloe was going way too far.
"Don't be mean to them. Marinette doesn't have a crush on me. We're just friends. You need to stop being rude to people, or I am not going to want to hang out with you anymore. You used to not be this way, and recently I don't know what's been going on with you. This is not Chloe. It makes me sad that you've turned like this." I walked towards the door of the shop.

"I'm really sorry about that. I hope she didn't hurt your feelings."I said looking at Marinette and Nathanael. They looked at me in shock since I talked back to Chloe, but just nodded in understanding.

I gave one last glance at Chloe. She changed. I wasn't sure I wanted someone like that in my life anymore. She was my childhood friend yes, but one can only handle so much.

I walked out.

I made it towards the end of the block before I heard Chloe run after me.

"Adrien wait! I'm sorry!" I stopped walking. She caught up.

"Adrien I'm sorry." I sighed. Her eyes were full of tears. No Adrien. She needs to hear it.

"Chloe. You need to stop. You're not sorry. You always do this. Whenever you get mad at me or anyone else you lash out and say hurtful things. You don't think before you speak. You've become a changed person in the past couple of years Chloe, and honestly.. I can't do this anymore. I'm sorry. Me and you were childhood friends, but you've turned into this mean person and I don't want another person like that." My thoughts went to my father.
"Until you change or start to change... I don't want to be your friend." I turned away from her and walked away.

She didn't chase after me this time.

I made it half way through the park before I heard someone yelling:

"MARINETTE! YOU MADE ADRIEN HATE ME!" I turned around quickly and saw Chloe floating in the air. She was akumatized. Her hair was longer than usual and her blue eyes were black instead of blue. Her sunglasses were still on her.

I saw Marinette running down the street, Chloe right at her tail. I needed to transform and fast.

"Plagg Claws Out!" I ran in the direction of Chloe.

"Chloe why are you doing this!" I heard Marinette yell. She had fallen in the street. She was looking at Chloe. She was afraid.

"BECAUSE YOU ALWAYS GET IN THE WAY OF EVERYTHING! PEOPLE ALWAYS CHOOSE YOU OVER ME. ADRIEN CHOSE YOU OVER ME! YOU MADE HIM HATE ME!" She yelled. Chloe used her hair as a lasso and grabbed onto a car.
"NOW YOU HAVE TO PAY!" Chloe threw the car towards Marinette. I immediately ran towards her.

I got to Marinette 1 second before the car could hit her. I grabbed her and jumped away. She was shaking.

"Marinette are you okay?" Her hands still covered her face as if she was waiting for impact. I landed on a building.
"Hey Marinette you're okay." i tried pulling her hands away from her face gently. She didn't move. She must still be in shock. I pulled her towards me and hugged her tight.

"Mari. Hey Mari. You're okay. I got you." I said gently as I ran my fingers through her hair. She was starting to breathe normally but she was crying. I felt her hug me back.

"C-chat she was t-trying to h-hurt me. She was a-actually trying to hurt m-me." She stuttered. She put her arms around me.

"Mari she's akumatized. She doesn't know what she's doing."

"No Chat. She knows. I looked into her eyes. I couldn't move. It was like she was holding me down by the look in her eyes. I could see and feel everything she could. She wanted to hurt me." She held onto me a little tighter. That must be what her powers are.
"Chat you have to go. You have to make sure she doesn't hurt anyone else." Marinette pulled herself away from me. Her eyes were red from tears. I had to go.

"Promise me you'll stay here. I don't want my princess getting hurt." I hugged her once more. "It's okay Mari. Me and Ladybug are going to fix this." I pulled away and went back in the direction that Chloe was.

My only question going through my mind...

Where was my lady?

Sorry for the really really late update.. I kinda was debating on how to write this chapter. I kept changing things around a lot. Now question being

WHERE IS NATHANAEL?!?!?!?! i will explain in the next chapter. :) No worries the little tomatoe is okay.
