Aki's P.o.v
After the doctor told us about my sister, my mind just kind of shut down.
Changed? How much could she have changed? What if.....? No. That's not possible... But... What if it was...?
I shook my head and sighed. I looked over at Hikaru and saw that he was just staring into space. Kaoru was trying his best to comfort him, but Hikaru wasn't responding. I looked up at Tamaki and saw him staring at me, I blushed and looked away.
Now is not the time to be all embarrassed, my sister is in getting her brain scanned for crying out loud. This is all my fault, I should have been with her and not Tamaki. She needed me and I let her down. I am the worst sister ever. I-
Hikaru's voice cut into my thoughts, "Hey Aki, did Akarui ever have red colored eyes?"
I just stared at him unable to respond.
He looked down. "I know it sounds ridiculous, but I met someone in an art room at Ouran that looked exactly like her but with red eyes..."
Oh... I guess it was Hikaru that Akarui saw that day. I sighed and nodded. "Our natural eye color is red. We wear blue contact lenses because red eyes tend to freak people out."
The host club just kind of stared at me. "So that was Akarui..." Hikaru muttered. I nodded in response.
"Wait, how did you know it was her and not me?" I asked.
He shrugged. "Just a feeling I guess..."
"Wait what else have you guys not told us? I thought we were family..." Tamaki asked and pouted.
I sighed, now was not the time for this. "Tamaki, can we discuss this at a time when my sister isn't in a hospital?"
He frowned slightly and nodded.
We all sat in silence together, Honey-senpai was hiding his face in Takashi's chest.
"Takashi....How much do you think Akar-chan has changed?" Honey asked with tears in his eyes.
"Don't know." He responded, a little teary-eyed himself.
I laid my head on Tamaki's shoulder and closed my eyes for a moment.
~flashback~
Fourth grade
I was sitting with my sister alone at a tree swing in the park. We were doing our homework outside, I just found out recently what my father had been doing to Akarui. Since then I tried to keep her out of the house as much as possible when I was with her. We were sitting quietly when a boy our age, that I recognized from our neighborhood, came up to us. He looked at us and smiled.
"Hello, I'm Tristan."
We both looked up at him. I took out a sheet of paper and wrote, "Hello, I'm Aki, this is my sister Akarui." and showed him the paper.
He looked at it curiously and smiled, "Would you like to play with me?" He held out a ball.
I looked at my sister and hoped she would say yes because it would be the perfect distraction. She nodded and I smiled. I turned back to Tristan and nodded and got up. Akarui got up after me and we followed Tristan onto the blacktop where we played wall ball.
It took a while for us to get used to playing it, but we had a lot of fun. We laughed and smiled while playing with Tristan. I was grateful for that moment because I hadn't seen my sister that happy in a while.
~flashback end~
I open my eyes just as the doctor is coming out again. I look at the clock and realize that I actually fell asleep. I rub my eyes a little then sit up as the doctor starts talking.
