August 14th, 2018
I woke up early this morning due to the sun shining in my eyes. I glanced around me to see Maru asleep holding a can of pringles as if it were a teddy bear. I chuckle and looked down feeling a odd sense of warmth. Suddenly a bright red blush dusted my pale cheeks as I saw Haru asleep using my lap as a pillow. "H-Haru!?!" I yelped in surprise as I stood up causing Haru's head to fall to the floor with a loud thump. I stumbled back falling over a trashcan and fell onto the ground. Haru looked at me confused rubbing where his head hit the ground. He grumbled something as he sat up. His hair was a mess and drool on his face. A silly crooked smile formed on my face as I tried to hold back laughter. Haru furrowed his eyebrows and looked at me with a confused face as he tilted his head a little. I burst into laughter as he looked at me.
"What's so funny?!" Haru questioned as he started getting a little mad. "Stop laughing! Yuuki it's not funny!" He complained as he crossed his arms standing up and looking down at me as I laughed more.
"How do you know it's funny if you don't know what it is. For all you know I'm laughing at Maru and her teddy pringle." I giggled as Haru glanced at Maru with a smirk.
"Fine...still what was really funny? Seriously Yuuki." He said looking at me as I let out a small smile and sigh.
"Look in the mirror doofus." I said as he walked by me hitting my arm gently. As he looked in the reflection and his cheeks turned red with embarassment. "You've got a little something" I teased pointing to my own chin. He turned and glared at me as he wiped away the dried drool off his face.
"Not funny...Jeez." He said as he pouted a little and walked over and flicked me causing me to laugh a little more. "Should I wake Maru up?" He questioned looking over to the girl who was sleeping in a little ball now the can of pringles clutched so hard between her arms that they would probably all be crumbs.
"Nah, let her sleep a little. We wouldn't be able to get much done with her awake anyway." I said as I stood up and picked up the trashcan and started cleaning up a little. "You hungry?" I asked as I glanced at him. Haru answered with a quick nod. "Alright I'll go get some food from downstairs. We'll have to ration because we don't know how long we'll be staying here. I hope you're okay with beans. Because that's basically all we've got." I said as I turned and started walking off. As I walked through the old recording studio the only thing I could hear was the sound of my converse hitting the ground and the crumpling over papers and other things I stepped on. I stepped over a microphone stand as I pushed the bookcase open and ran down the stairs quickly. Walking over to the corner I grabbed 3 cans of beans, each a different type, and let them fall in my arms as I walked up the stairs again. As walked back to the room we had been hanging out in something caught my eye. Sitting in the corner of the room next to the one I was now in was a figure. My eyes brightened as I sprinted over, "Takumi!" I yelled out thinking it was my friend. Only until I got closer did I realize the distinct differences of this boy and Takumi. This boy had snow white hair and blood red eyes. I would have considered him handsome if he wasn't scowling at me with a sword pointed to me, a second one in his hand. I glanced at the shiny sword that was pointed right at my heart as the stranger stood up. "Oh hello..." I said as I went to step away only for him to walk around my moving the cool blade against my throat and a sharp pain poking into my back.
"Move and they'll be a sword through your heart." He said in a menacing voice that sent chills up my spine. I gulped and looked at him. That only made it worse. This boy didn't look human, it was almost uncanny how much he looked like a monster. "Put your hands above your head." The boy said sternly to me. "NOW!" He spat as I hesitated to put my hands over my head. "Shit. Bad. Bad. Bad. I need a way out...What do I do? Need to get out! He'll kill me!" I thought in a panic. Suddenly the boy froze. Not again. Life was on pause again. This time was much harder to noticed than the first time. The only reason I had realized was because the boy stopped blinking or yelling. He was in the middle of saying something. I let out a drawn out sigh of relief as I thought of a second. Within seconds a sly smirk grew on my face as I snatched only one blade from his hand and slunked around him and put it against his neck right as time resumed before I could grab the other.
"Shit." I mummbled as the boy's crimson eyes widened. He yelled something inaudible at me. Suddenly a obsidian colored ichor started climbing up my arm. My eyes widened as I felt thorn-like chains growing around my hand making me unable to let go of the sword. I shrieked trying to get rid of it but no one was there to help me.
"Kyohi sa remashita", a cruel voice echoed in my head. The voice was gravely and frightening and sent a shiver up my spine (Translation: Rejected). The touch of the chains stabbing into my hand caused a burning pain that made me yelp out.
"MAKE IT STOP!", I cry out in pain as the boy stood there with a devious grin on his face, mummbling under his breath. He positioned his grip on the sword he still had before running at me the smirk still present on his face. He swung the stygian sword at me making a gust of wind blow past me as the sword sliced through the air next to me. I stumbled backwards, tripping over my feet as I kept the blade in my hand and the swung it at him in a paroxysm of slashes and jabs which he parried easily. I jabbed the sword towards his lower abdomen as I saw him swat the blade away from him, a malicious grin growing on his face.
"THAT'S WHAT YOU DESERVE! I'LL GET YOU BACK FOR WHAT YOU DID TO LEAH!!! GOVERNMENT BASTARDS!!" He yelled as I tried to make the time stop again, coming up short. Nothing happened. No matter how hard as I tried to make the time stop again it wouldn't work. I kept randomnly swinging the sword until I felt a blaring pain in the left side of my right thigh. My gaze fell down to my leg where a large gash of red stretched from my lower thigh up towards my hip where the wound sunk deeper, his sword still in the wound. I felt like I was going to be sick, no, I was going to be sick. A rush of memories of my parents shot though my mind as my eyes widened, a single tear falling down my cheek as I saw the boy's eyes widen slightly. It was the first time the boy had anything that even resembled a human emotion. A wave of dizziness and numbing seemed to crash over me as my body fell to the floor in a small heap. I watched the next few moments through blurry eyes. Everthing seemed to be slowed down. Like watching a video in slow motion, two figures ran into the room yelling words that I couldn't understand. As they got closer I realized it was Haru and Maru. Haru was yelling something at the white haired boy who was staring down at me with a look of horror on his face. Maru had knelt next to me and was shaking my arm as if I wasn't awake.
I looked up at her with my pale blue eyes and said in a slur of words that seemed to run together, "is' okay...i'm okay. Don' worry 'bout me. I'm strong." I gave a weak smile and tried to form my hand into a thumbs up but I struggled. My body felt cold and weak. I wanted to sleep, sleep was good, I wanted to sleep for a long time, and when I would wake up my Mom and Dad would be there looking at me with their happy smiles. Takumi and his family would be there waiting for me to join the picinic. And I would be home again. Home, where I belonged. I looked at the people sitting over me now, tears staining their cheeks with proof of their trails. My gaze fell upon the boy again, the one who had done this to me. He looked like a knight, his pale skin and ivory hair that fell in a messy fashion with the terrifying but beautiful red eyes. He still looked at afraid. He was staring down at his sword which was covered in my own blood. I looked upon the three of them as my vision faded into a darkness. My eyes slowly fell closed as the shadows engulfed me.
