Dear Journal,

Guess I haven't written anything in here for a while... It sorta seems like a waste, doesn't it? I mean I was writing this for Takumi. He was the one who had the idea of me writing a journal. I've grown accustom to it though, so I think I'll continue. Maybe now it'll be to someone else...the future.

Yuuki Sakamoto

I looked at the book in my hand and drew a bold line between the journal that had been left for Takumi and the new one, showing the change.

Dear Journal,

I started to write before pausing and lifting the pen to my mouth and shaking my head. That wasn't it. It wasn't right. I brought my pen down to the paper and crossed out the words "Dear Journal," and began again.

To whomever is reading this,

Hi. I'm not sure if anyone will ever read this but if so, my name is Yuuki Sakamoto. It feels sorta weird writing an introduction of myself like this. Anyway...today is August 27th, of the year 2018. Guess I should explain the situation huh...? You may not even know of any of this. I do hope things have changed. Well...if you're reading this that means we probably succeeded. The world is a mess and me and my four friends are going to change that, well we're trying to. Our names are...Yuuki Sakamoto, Haru Itsuichi, Maru Kaze, Kazuto Sekibashi, and Akane Kuro. We refuse to be tricked, we refuse to be forgotten. We will leave our mark. Don't forget us, Kay? Thanks. I guess I gotta go, the others are yelling at me. My journey continues now.

Sincerely,

Yuuki Sakamoto

"Jeez! Yuuki, hurry up!" I felt a hand on my shoulder as I stumbled to the side, my gaze followed up towards the arm and saw Maru, her light blue hair curling at the ends.

I grinned and jumped up, "I'm coming, I'm coming. Let's just do one quick scan of the house and then we can go. We should leave it exactly how we left it." Maru looked at me and nodded, as the other piled into the room. "Okay so I'll get the bedroom, Maru get the kitchen, Kazu get the living room, Akane go with Kazuto, and Haru gets my room. Meet back in 5 minutes in the hall." After one nod everyone parted their separate ways and I was alone. If I closed my eyes and forced myself to forget I would almost mistake this for any regular day, a day where I hadn't known. Ignorance is bliss, as the saying goes. I opened my eyes and shook my head, I couldn't think that way, knowing was my power, my strength. I stepped down the hallway and turned into the bedroom and glanced around. The broken typewriter lie in a crumpled mess on the ground. "I can't believe I broke an antique, mom would be so upset." I let out a sigh and walked over to it and opened the hidden spot for it. Cupping my hands I pushed the cool metal into the hole, watching as it fell with a clinking sound. As I finished my eyes focused on something among the rubbish, a smooth white piece of paper. Unlike everything else it seemed almost untouched, and had small square letters written on it in a silky black ink. I pulled it out and looked at the font that read,

"I wait for you by the sea

Where time seems to stop

Seagulls cry and sand in your toes

You will have to face your foes.
