Light, bright light. The smell of salt water and the sound of the waves beating on the shore. My eyes adjust to the light. My sense come to me. I can taste the bitter water, I can feel the grainy, damp, sand beneath my feet. I blink and finally my vision is in full focus. There's the water, a green/blue vastness of foam. I stand shakily, my legs not fully used to having any weight on them.
"Hey! Get in line!" a voice chanted out to me.
I look around, there's the line. The line. How do I know what the line is. Wait... who am I? Where am I?
My senses are flooded with confusion as I try to figure out what's going on. Suddenly, I was pushed to the back of the line. The ocean leaving my eyesight. I try and turn around but behind me the sea is blocked by another body.
The line continued. The sky above dark and gloomy.
(Y/N)
The name echo's in my head.
Chicago
The city echo's after.
Suddenly the area around me changes. It's a suburban area. With houses up and down a plain street. All the houses look the same. Everything is the same. Soon, the line comes to a stop and everyone turns into a house. I paused at the end of the sidewalk that lead up to the house. This was weird... this was...wrong. I looked around and there he was. Another man standing at the end of the walkway up to his house. He turned and saw me. He flashed me a smile and walked up the cemented trailed. I followed in sort and walked into my house.
In my house was a simply hallway. To the left there was a stairway and straight forward was a TV room. The TV was playing. I walked forward into the TV room and someone was sitting on the couch. He stood and looked over at me, smiling.
"(Y/N)! It's so good to finally meet you. I'm your Counterpart. My name is Brendon." He introduced. He took my hand and lead me to sit on the couch.
"I love you (Y/N)."
I looked over at him taken aback. He loves me? He just met me? This is wrong... this is... weird.
"I'm supposed to love you." He explained noticing your look "And you're supposed to love me... do you love me?"
"I-I-I..." You stutter, finding your voice for the first time.
"It's okay, most people find it hard to speak when they first arrive. But, here." He placed his lips on yours. Your eyes widen, but you can't seem to pull away.
"Now I know you love me." He said after pulling away. I lean away from him.
"I-I-I need to go outside." You say standing.
"But you can't!" Brendon called after you "It's not time for that yet. Right now it's TV time!" He says grabbing your arm and pulling you back to the couch.
You stare at him pleadingly "But I would really like to go outside."
"Not yet." He says his grip tightening.
Whatever was going on here, the mediocrity of this all. She was going to find out... maybe with some help.
I know Andy isn't in this part at all but he will be in the next part I promise.
