Chapter 17- Stop & Stare

Hey so sorry about the delay on chapter updates!! Been a crazy time and just havn't been able to kick this cold. But here is chapter 17 and I really hope you like it. Anyway enjoy and I'll see you at the bottom!!

Athena's POV

I felt like my arm might fall out of its socket as he pulled me along the halls, we were almost at the great hall and I could feel my stomach start to churn. How would my mum react... How would my new found dad and most of all how would Orion and Scorpius react... especially after what happened last time. 

"Thea you ok?" I looked up at James who was giving me a worried look as we stopped just outside the doors.

"Yeah I'm fine." I said trying to give him my most convincing smile. This wasn't like last time and it wouldn't be.. James was different, he was my mums best friends son. He wasn't Tristan. I shook my head, trying to shake the thoughts away before looking at James. He still looked worried but when I smiled at him he grinned back before squeezing my hand and pushed open the doors. They flew open with a loud bang and I felt everything stop and I could feel all eyes on our intertwined hands. He had to do it so damn loud didn't he! He was going to be the death of me. I looked to my mum who was still at the teachers table and was smiling with James's mum, who was evidently grinning at us. 

"Headmistress was right!" I heard Coach Ginny practically yell across the hall, her voice bouncing off the walls, my mum trying to quieten her down. I then turned towards the Slytherin table where I could see Orion grinning at me but I could see a seriousness in his eyes and I knew the reason why. Preston was next to him giving James a strange look, Albus was a few seats down from them and smiling slightly at us before casting his eyes towards the Gryffindor table and I watched him lock eyes with Lily who was grinning like a crazy person and practically bouncing in her seat.

"FINALLY! THANK GOD!" She cheered and I gave her a quizzical look which she just grinned even more at. I was to scared to look further up Gryffindor table so I looked back towards the teachers table where I could now see my dad out of his seat, a stern if not slightly angry look on his face and his eyes were fixed on James who wasn't grinning as much as before. I saw my mum trying to tug him back into his seat, looked like it was starting to work. Then I knew I couldn't avoid it any longer, I looked towards my table eyes traveling up and past my friends till they locked with Scorpius, his face was twisted with pain, his eyes looking like they were going to burn a hole in James, he was standing up at the table next to Dominique and he looked so angry and hurt. 

"Score.." I called as I watched my big brother get up and walk out of the hall, everyone watching him go.

"Thea don't worry about him, you know why he's being like this. After last time and he blames himself and maybe this is to close to home for him this time." I heard Orion say as he placed a hand on my shoulder giving me a kind smile before turning his eyes on James.

"Now listen here Potter, I've seen my sister hurt before, I've watched her in pain and after everything lately I won't take seeing it again. So I swear if you hurt her, I can promise you, you won't live to see another day!" Orion said in a very serious un Orion voice. His face was dark and he looked even bigger then usual as he stood next to me, nose to nose with James.

"I understand Orion, I promise nothing will happen to her." He said giving my brother a serious look.

"Well good then, oh and I wouldn't get to comfortable if I were you, you thought I was bad. Well we've just found our dad and he's extra protective of Thea just like my brother and I. Oh and I'd be scared of Scorpius most of all." He said grinning at James before leaving to go find Scorpius. 

"Why do I feel like my death is coming very very soon." He said to me while trying to smile as we walked towards our table.

"Because it probably is.." I said while noticing my dad start to walk towards us, my mum walking quickly behind him.

"Draco.. DRACO! DRACO LUCIUS MALFOY STOP!" I heard her call after him, a look of panic on her face. She had dropped all form of formality as she called after him, looking more and more irritated. He didn't stop till he was standing in front of us, he'd reached us just as we'd reached our table. "Draco walk away now, this is not the time or the place we will talk about this later or tomorrow morning in my dorm, not here in the great hall with the whole school. You remember what I said, think of Athena." She said as she urged him to calm down and I couldn't help but wonder what they'd spoken about. He gave me a meaningful look and I instantly felt bad and sorry for him.

He hadn't known about us for the first 16 years of our lives and now his daughter who he'd just got had a boyfriend, a boy he'd known his whole life. It must of been hard trying to work through all the feelings and parental instincts that he wasn't really used to yet. Orion had told me that he and Scorpius were crazy while I'd been out and recovering. They were so alike. He gave me an apologetic look before turning and starting to walk out of the hall. 

"Sorry sweetie, he's just trying to get used to it all, its a lot. But I'm happy for you, both of you. We'll talk later." She said touching the side of my face gently and giving me a loving smile. 

"I know mum, I know." I could feel tears welling up as I watched the last of my family leave the great hall, I'd literally driven them all out. 

"Thea its ok it'll get better, Scorpius will come around. James is his friend maybe thats why its harder." That's when it hit me, it clicked why Orion had said what he'd said. Tristan had been one of his friends, that's how I'd even met him. He'd never stopped blaming himself for what had happened. Oh no.. I let go of James hand and turned to run out of the hall which was all I ever seemed to do. Determined to find my brother, one of my protectors as my mum had always called them. Her knights and her Princess.
