Two months has passed and their last show in North America was New Jersey before they did a show in the UK. And this is where Jackie had to tell them, finally about Alex. Not that her relationship should affect her job with with them, but it did.
Jackie built up the courage to walk in the room with the four boys, they were more important. Besides she never really knew the other guy who played the saxophone. So there she stood with them all looking at her because she said she needed to tell them something important.
She took a deep breath, "I'm not going with you guys to the UK, yay...!" She wiggled her hands trying to get a reaction from them, Matty just kept packing.
"You're kidding, right?" Ross's face seemed wistful. Jackie shook her head.
"Why? Is it just the UK or...?" George asked calmly with playing with something in his hands.
"Uh, I might quit too." Jackie said looking down at her feet.
"Why? I thought we had fun, I thought you loved this job." Adam said trying to see why she was quitting.
"No, no. I do love this job, I really do," Jackie smiled and held her hands together, "It's just...I'm engaged. I'm getting married." She smiled wider. It went silent.
"To who?," Matty finally spoke up, "You'd give up something you love for some guy?"
"He's not just some guy-" Jackie began.
"Yes, he is just some guy because if he wasn't then you would've told us when you got engaged. Maybe even right after it happened." Matty had the same bored expression he always had.
"I am telling you, late, but I'm telling you. Besides what makes you think I would've told you. It's not like I have to tell you every aspect of my personal life." Jackie pointed out while looking straight into Matty's eyes. Everyone else stayed silent not sure what do or say.
"Oh please," Matty stood up, "You've told me everything, everything, since you've started working with us."
"Maybe I'm tired of telling you everything. Maybe I'm just tired of you." Jackie couldn't take it anymore. She was tired of just being around Matty and him treating her like nothing when he knew exactly how she felt towards him. The only time anything happened was the first time in LA. She wasn't going to wait because there was no point. "Sorry, I have a flight to catch." She said storming out the room.
Matty sat back down stuffing his stupid suitcase for his stupid clothes.
"Was there something we missed?" George looked at Matty.
"No, you were here the whole time." Matty stood up kicking the luggage and also leaving the room.
George looked at the other lads with wide eyes.

Matty wasn't sure what he was doing, but he went to the closest bar, he wasn't even drinking he just sat in a dark corner. Wondering if Jackie really was quitting or just bluffing. He never even knew she was in a relationship. He did see a ring on her finger a couple weeks or so ago, but the next day she stopped wearing it.
Why was he getting worked up about this anyways? Matty shrugged and ordered a drink and started flirting with some girl who sat next to him. He's just having fun.

Once they hit the UK everyone was just realizing how much Jackie was a part of their lives, band wise. Adam would call her name a couple names on accident then remembered she wasn't there anymore and then George would complain about how the dressing room was dirty, but it was just the way he didn't like it (he had "special needs).
Ross would just be the same because he wasn't really a needy person who needed an assistant. Matty just pretended he never met Jackie in the first place, so it was going well for him.
Until George brought up the wedding to Matty, "So are you going to go?" He asked him looking through his phone.
"Don't know, when is it?" Matty pretended to be interested.
"In a week or two, you didn't get the invitation?" George looked up from his phone to see Matty drinking so he looked back down at his phone.
"How would I get it?" Matty asked being annoyed by all of this.
"It was in the group chat." Adam replied from a chair away from them both.
"We don't have him in that group chat, remember?" George said casually.
"Wait, why not?" Matty gave them a confused look.
Adam shrugged, "Just don't, it's nothing personal."
   "Right...anyways, the show."

Matty went into his hotel room leaving the lights off so he could just be swallowed into the darkness. He grabbed the bottle of vodka he left on the short kitchen counter. He popped off the top and started drinking from the bottle.
He pulled off his shoes then dropped himself on the bed and spilled some of his drink on the bed. He didn't care, he just laid there. He looked up at the white ceiling and watched as his eyes made shapes out of the dark. He kept taking large sips until he was halfway through the large bottle.
Matty watched as the liquid inside it shook while he would move the bottle from side to side. He sighed loudly. He had to admit it, he missed her. He didn't even like her in that way...or maybe he did.
Matty wanted to think about Jackie now, he wanted to see if he had any true feelings for her or if he only thought of her as a friend. He told her before though, 'You're not in love with me, you just think you are because you spend almost all of your bloody time with us.' He remembers it so clearly.
The pain on her face even if she tried to hide it he could still see that he hurt her and he wanted to hug her. Even now, but he couldn't so he hugged the bottle instead. Matty's wasted mind couldn't keep up with his feelings, he wanted Jackie. He wanted her in a way he's never really wanted someone.
He liked her smile, her eyes, he liked Jackie. It reminded him of...her. Matty sat up throwing the bottle against the wall. The broken glass flew all over the bed.
"Fuck," Matty began picking up the pieces with his hands while he knelt by the bed. He stared at them as they laid on his palm and he started crying. He clenched his fist and watched as the blood started dripping off his hands and onto the bed.
Forget his past red head. She didn't love him at all, but Jackie did. She's perfect to him. She's what really matters. She's the one. But Matty remembered that she's getting married and that made him clench his fists harder.
He stood up and wiped his hands on the bed and pulled off the cover throwing them on the floor. He sat down trying to concentrate on his phone. He looked for flights to LA, he threw himself back and sighed loudly.
"There's no use," even if he does go, let's say, what if he pours his heart out to Jackie and she actually did lose interest. He'd rather take the chances.
What if he never goes, he'll always be thinking, what if? No, he won't be living his life in regret.
Matty checked the time, it was four in the morning. But first, Matty had to sleep.
