Chapter 9:
"For redemption from the haunts of a past of depriving the freedom of those confined to the Tower in the spiteful pleasure of satisfying his tyranny, receiving forgiveness was the Key; not shunning every shred of happiess that countenanced the bliss of true love's dawn. Such is Life, as Lady Scarlet would believe in."

9 October, 1890
FairyTail Guild Hall,
Magnolia, Fiore.
Lady Erza thought back to the ethreal hours of twilight she'd enjoyed in the courtyard of the ball, during their mission. The regal man, Jellal Fernandez, had come to Magnolia and had met her.
He had told her about his deep regrets and reckless notions of discontinuing existance. It may be true that one simply couldn't live with himself after scarring lives, but that was no excuse to give up.
She had seen genuine grief and affliction in his eyes. That had triggered her emotions. No one deserved such torment... not even if they had once been so themselves.
She had encouraged him with zealous and heartening words:
"You don't die for all the wrong you do... you live to make up for them. Being alive is a sign of strength"
But when he showed no signs of rendering himself to them, her wrath had been enkindled.
She had raised her voice against him in desperate hopes of letting understanding dawn in him, passionate fire ignited inside her. Then, her patience had fled at the face of her blazing ire.
That was when she had arrested his collars with her hands. The man's composture had seemed to be unaffected. Just then, she had felt his strong arms encircle her and the will to strive betrayed her, as his face drew closer to hers.
Her grips on his garments released as her hands made their way to his shoulders. She inhaled the fragrance of love.
"Erza Scarlet. You never seem to cease captivating me. Isn't it a pleasure to have you?"
Those were the last words of his rich voice that her ears had heard before he drew her close for a kiss. All those raging emotions that had been mutinying inside her had been stilled; enslaved by the moment. It was too good to be true...
The blissful moments to succeed had vanished in flash as she felt his embrace break. Shock had jostled her a few steps away from him as she stood there staring at him, heart accelerating.
"I'm sorry, Erza. I- I... I'm betrothed", came his abrupt excuse for terminating the magical moment; and he never met her eyes.
"I- I understand... I- I'm s-sorry", She had stammered her apology as the bashfulness of the situation hit her in force.
Thinking back to the events of that evening, she wondered why her feelings had frenzied like that... She was Erza Scarlet. She knew no embarrassment!
Only one man held the authority of unlocking such things inside her. Why was she so delicate when she was around him? Why did her walls melt away at the sound of his rich voice?
Why did she feel those tremours when he was around? Why did the thought of losing him pierce her through?
She had always believed in the essence of friendship even to the extent of throwing her life on the line... But this relationship was different.
