"Since you all have been the angels you promised to be," said Mrs. Broash, "we have decided to reward you all with a free night. Now you could stay in your rooms and read, but it would be much more fun to explore New York City, don't you think? Of course you must stay in groups of two or more, for safety reasons, but other than that, have fun!" And with that last statement some groups scattered, some allied with others, and some just stayed put. Lucas and I were the group that stayed. Riley and Farkle walked towards us, Riley batted her eyes to impress Lucas, but he had eyes only for me. I was afraid, we were out with no supervision in a huge, crowded city. Noah was bound to show up and do something dreadful.
"Hey, you'll be okay. I'll protect you, like I promised." Lucas whispered in my ear, reading my mind, or at least my expression. I looked up at him, terrified, and clutched onto his arm. Riley looked confused and Farkle looked at Riley, an odd expression in his eyes. "Okay, ladies and gentlemen, let's go." Lucas announced and we walked over to a Toys-R-Us and thought it good to start there. So we began the night with a bang.
In this store there was a ferris wheel, a little go-kart track, a section for roller skating, a barbie aesthetic section, and three stories complete with escalators and bouncy castles.
"This is going to be sick!" I announced, completely forgetting my Noah worry and darting straight for the roller-skating area. I slid on a pair of light-pink velvet ones with purple/pink wheels and purple/pink matching leather laces. Naturally those were my preference. I started to skate around the "rink" but it was too boring so I shot out of the pen and around the store to find the others. The place was deserted, apart from us because it was almost ten pm, so I skated around the first floor calling there names. Riley appeared in the barbie section, playing with the baby dolls and makeup kits.
"More eyeliner?" She asked. I glanced at her... wing? was it supposed to be a wing? I don't know. Her smoky eyeshadow looked good. Her lipstick was a little too dark and the blush was a different shade entirely. I giggled.
"Riley have you ever worn makeup?" I ask, skating over to her. She shook her head and hung it. I tapped her chin with the palm of my hand, lifting it up.
"Pick up your head, princess, your tiara's falling." I said to her. After all she is my best friend, so I'm there to be nice to her even when I'm not her priority. I help her out, no matter what, because best friends stick together. Through the dark and the light. She smiled at me, tears welling in her eyes. "Let me help you."

When I was finished with us both we looked killer. Her mascara and eyeliner brought out her brown eyes, her lipstick complemented the wonderful contour job I had done. Her face shimmered, with makeup and pride, and I wouldn't have her feel any other way.
My makeup on the other hand was a bit more playful. I had pink lipstick in the shade 'bubblegum' and big eyes mascara to bring out the natural length and curl of my eyelashes. I did a wing for the eyeliner and was relieved to see that both were even. My eyeshadow was silvery-pink and my contour was perfect against my skin tone. We were barbie dolls all right.
We walked arm in arm to the second story, where we found the boys racing remote control cars around a plastic track. Lucas took one glance up and his car screeched to a halt. Farkle's car soon did the same and Riley and I smiled at each other.
"I want to go to the play structures on the third floor!" I squeal, acting like a child. "The pink castle or the fairy house!" I jump up and down, clapping. Lucas chuckled and raced upstairs. I followed closely behind. We reached the play structures and skidded to a halt. They were so detailed, almost like actual buildings. They had stairs and poles to slide down and curtains and it was amazing. I ran into the pink castle, in awe of the inside. It was pure glitter and had actual furniture inside. A cute princess bed with a cute princess couch and princess everything! I was so amazed that I couldn't move. I hopped onto the bed, bouncing like a child, having the time of my life. Lucas laughed and slid down the slide on the "third floor" of the castle structure. he landed in the pink foam pit.
"This is so cool!" I gasp, playing with the puzzle on the wall. Lucas looked at me happily, evidently my happiness made him happy, which made me feel happy, which started the cycle all over.
"Want to go on the ferris wheel?" Or the carousel?" Lucas suggested.
"Oh, I don't do ferris wheels. Too high." I explain, playing with the pink foam blocks.
"I'll protect you, Maya, don't worry." Lucas urged.
"Okay fine. But I'm going in a different cart as you. I don't want you to see me look sick." I agreed. He looked hesitant but nodded. We made our way over to the wheel, where Riley and Farkle were already going round and round. When it came to a halt, Lucas went in first. He asked me once more if I wanted to accompany him and I declined, hopping into the cart behind him. Just before the ride started a male figure hopped into my cart. The door closed, sealing us into the cart and the ride started to go. I turned to look at my unexpected passenger and gasped, scooting away.
"I'm surprised at you, Maya. You never liked ferris wheels when were dating." Noah commented, scooting closer to me as I scooted into the wall.
"I'm still not." I said. Trying to keep him talking and not kissing me. "But my boyfriend got me to go on it."
"Oh, you have a boyfriend." He said, mimicking my tone.
"Yes, so back off." I threaten, poking his chest.
"Oh, please, there's no competition there." He scoffed and scooted closer and closer to me until he was literally on top of me. We reached the peak of the wheel and all of a sudden it jerked to a stop.
"W-what's going on?" I asked him, afraid.
"We've stopped so you and I can have some alone time."
