MAYA'S POV
I sat on the roof of Riley's apartment building, at night, Riley was having a party and with each tear that rolled down my cheek more painful memories escaped into my mind.

"Maya?" I heard a soft, kind voice say. I swung my head around not caring if anybody saw my tears, to see Lucas Friar standing up behind me.

"What do you want huckleberry?" I asked, my voice trembling.

"Are you okay?"

"Why would you care?" I snapped, regretting every word that escaped my mouth. "I'm sorry, you're just trying to help."

"Josh is a jerk if he cheated on you." Lucas commented as he slowly bent down to sit next to me, then he added, "Any guy would be lucky to have you."

"I just don't understand why I'm crying over him, he's a jerk and I don't understand why on earth it hurts so bad." I said truthfully, more tears rolling down my cheeks.

"It hurts, because he hurt you." Lucas said as he wrapped his arm around my shoulder.

"I wish I could get back at him." I said as I felt my phone ring, I took it out feeling Lucas glance over my shoulder to look.

JoshM: I'm sorry, can we talk? Come back to the party.

"Ugh! He's such an ass!" I shouted in anger furrowing my eyebrows at the screen.

"If you wanna get back at him, I have an idea." Lucas said as a smirk appeared on his face.

"What kind of idea?" I asked as a smirk appeared on my face too. 

"Well maybe if he catches me kissing you or whatever, he'll get jealous and feel the heartbreak, you feel." Lucas suggested.

"I like the idea of that, Ranger Rick."

"Okay, but you gotta quit calling me that if we're gonna sell this thing." Lucas said.

"I guess huckleberry."

"Hey!"

"Last time tonight." I said.

Once, Lucas and I got back to the apartment, we made our way through the crowds of people, until we made it in the middle of the crowd, where we located Josh.

Josh kept eyeing me, his eye brows creased but I didn't let him make any eye contact with me.

I wrapped my arms around Lucas's neck as he wrapped his arms around my waist and I crashed my lips against his.

The kiss was longer than I expected, and I felt something, I'd never felt before.

When we broke for air, I looked into Lucas's eyes.

"You're a good kisser, Lucas."

"You're not so bad yourself, Maya." Lucas said as he smirked.

I then pressed my lips against his, one last time.

When we pulled away, I smiled.

"I love you, Lucas."

"I love you, Maya."
