authors note; i wrote this after i watched "girl meets upstate", and i decided to write an alternate ending of lucaya. 😊 hope you enjoy! (sorry it's really short).

M A Y A

I grabbed Lucas by the collar of his shirt and held him close to my face, "you make a decision about us ranger rick?"

"I did." He replied, smiling at my hand gripping his shirt and my purple painted face.

"Well it doesn't matter." I said, letting go of Lucas's collar.

"Yeah it does!" Farkle argued, furrowing his eyebrows.

"Yeah, we've been waiting for like two years!" Zay chimed in, crossing his arms over his chest.

"No it doesn't matter because-" I trailed off, feeling my heart almost break in my chest, I opened my mouth and finished, "you picked Riley."

"What? How do you know?" Riley asked, her face puzzled.

Lucas's face displayed his uncertainty, as he sat there at the bay window with a sad and confused face.

"It's always been Riley, it's Riley." I said, as I felt tears forming in my eyes. Luckily the purple paint covered it up.

"I didn't pick Riley." Lucas said, I almost felt a feeling of joy and happiness.

"Wait. What?" Riley asked, her eyes widened at Lucas as if she was shocked.

"I picked you."

Those very words made me smile and happy almost as if butterflies were flying in my stomach.

"Y-you did?" I asked, my voice trembly and weak from all the excitement bubbling inside me.

"Yeah." Lucas nodded his head, as a smile lit up his face.

I jumped on him and crashed my lips against his, making my heart race in a way I had never felt before.

I heard Riley, Farkle, and Zay clapping.

Then when we broke for air, I caught glimpse of Farkle's hand on Riley's shoulder.

"Wanna grab dinner?" Farkle asked Riley as he placed his hand on her shoulder.

"Yeah, that's sounds really nice, actually." Riley replied, as a smile spread across her face.

"I could eat too." Zay chimed in, causing us to all giggle in laughter.
