Chapter 8: Soundtrack
"Don't forget! Chapter 2 questions 1 through 9!"
The students piled out, one after another. Our Biology teacher, Mrs. Leonor, shouting today's homework at the passing figures. I was on my way to my next class, History, when someone waved at me.
"Hey Roma!"
I sucked in my breath and managed to muster a small smile.
"Hey Lucas", I waved at the boy.
He walked up over to me and looked down to meet my eyes. I'm kind of on the short side for my age, so my eyes are on the same length with his shoulders.
"What class do you have next?"
"History with Mr. Bethel".
He perked up. "Looks like we're in the same class", he motioned to the door with a quick jerk of his head. "Let's go".
I calmed myself down and walked beside him. He hummed softly.
"What song is that?" I asked curious.
"I forgot the title, but Alexia made me listen to it. It's one of the songs that we're going to use in the play".
"Oh ok".
"Are you still helping with the choreography?" he flashed a perfect smile.
I swear my stomach was housing at least one hundred butterflies at that exact moment.
"Yeah, I'm still helping. I need to hear the soundtrack first, though", I replied with a smile.
We halted in front of a door that read 3-B and Lucas reached for the handle.
"I'm sure Alexia has it. she'll probably let you hear during lunch".
He opened the door.
"I can't wait".
---------------------------------------------
"Alexia, let me hear it!"
She turned to face with a puzzled expression on her face. she slung her black and gold bag over one shoulder and placed a textbook in her locker.
"Hear what?"
I huffed at her.
"Hear the soundtrack for the play. You still want me to help right?"
Her eyes lit up. "Ohhhh the soundtrack. I almost forgot to show it to you", she pulled out a CD from the front pocket of her bag. "Here".
I took the case from her and stuffed it in my backpack.
"If you have enough time, you can think of some awesome dance moves and maybe even teach the actors", she grabbed my hand and pulled me in the direction of the cafeteria.
"Whoa. Wait. You want me to teach the actors?"
"Well, duh. How else are they supposed to know the dance moves that are in your head?"
I sighed. "True".
We grabbed our lunches and headed to the table in the center of the cafeteria. The rest of the drama club were already seated there. I gave them a smile as I plopped my tray on the table.
"'Sup guys?" I asked.
I chorus of "nothing" and "everything's cool" rung out from the members. Maria leaned a little closer to me with anticipation written all over her face.
"Did you listen to the track yet?" she asked bubbly.
"No not yet. Alexia just gave me the CD a few minutes ago".
" Oh, well it's really good. I picked out a couple of the songs and I can't wait for you to hear them", she grinned.
I chuckled. "I'll listen to it the minute I get home", I promised.
Everyone was laughing and talking soon enough. It even appears that the members came up with most of the scenes for the play via online chat. I was a little disappointed that they did it without me, but I'm not even a member so I don't necessarily have to be there. The club was lively, creative and energetic; honestly I can't believe I managed to find such friends in such a short time.
The rest of the school day was average. I managed to sneak some notes across the room to Alexia and Marisa without being noticed by the Spanish teacher. I chatted with Maria and Nina during Study Hall, and it seems that Lucas keeps on glancing at me...
Should I be thrilled or skeptical about that last part? Well nevertheless, today was a good day. And it may even get better considering that I have my dance class to look forward too. With my dance teacher, Cameron Boyce.
I love saying that.
--------------------/////-------------------
Ok so this chappie is kinda on the short side. really nothing exciting... yet. I know Cameron Boyce is hardly mentioned but there is a really good reason for that. there is also a good reason why Roma is kind of feeling attracted towards Lucas. I have everything planned out perfectly so don't be mad about the lack of our Jessie co-star. I promise the next chappie will be a day with Roma and Cameron. and only them. And sorry for not posting in a while. you know I procrastinate soooo much... Anyway bye-nee!
