Izzys pov

my parents came home a little later then expected. they said that there was a lot of traffic and it took forever to pass. my mom comes in the kitchen where Chandler and I still are.

"you two didn't kill eachother while we were out?" she jokes.

"hilarious mom" I say sarcastically and roll my eyes.

she looks at Chandler. "isn't that your fathers clothes?" she asks.

"my clothes were wet so she gave me these while mine dried" Chandler explains and my mom nods.

"well Isabella can you get blankets and pillows for Chandler to sleep on the couch" my mom asks me. I nod and look at Chandler.

"you're coming with me. and your carrying everything" I say and run upstairs. he runs up after me and I go in my room. I stop him.

"my room. you're not welcome" I say and grab a few blankets and pillows. he rolls his eyes and leans against the doorway.

"I see what your doing" he says and looks around.

"and that is?" I say handing him the blankets.

"you're mocking me. I wouldn't let you in my room so you won't let me in yours" he chuckles.

"woah your so smart" I say sarcastically and shut my door.

"why are you being so rude?" he asks. I can tell he's getting a little annoyed.

"I'm not being rude. I'm just being myself" I sigh and start for the steps. he grabs my arm.

"let me go" I say and try to pull my arm away. but he doesn't let go.

"answer my question. you were fine talking to me a minute ago. what happened?" he says sternly.

I sigh "I don't want to get along with you. we hate each other. nothing is going to change that"

"people change. I can change. I'm more mature now" he says letting go of my arm.

"you weren't very mature a few days ago. and you haven't been for the past year. you've been rude to me at school. you never talked to me unless you were forced. what changed?" I say trying not to raise my voice.

"I don't know ok? I don't know what to tell you. but I'm trying to get along with you and you aren't helping" he says raising his voice.

"don't raise your voice at me" I say sternly.

"oh my god you're such a mom! lighten up, be a kid" he says clearly really annoyed.

"don't call me that! I just panic about stuff! and if you have a problem then you can-" I yell but I'm cut off my a loud boom of thunder that shakes the house a little bit and a big flash of lightning that lights up the house. neither of us say anything we just look at each other panicked.

"are you ok?" I ask him.

he shrugs "not a very big fan of storms." I nod in agreement.

"sorry for calling you a mom" he mumbles.

"sorry for being a mom" I say and shiver a little.

"you ok?" he asks. he actually cares about me?

"uh y-yea I'm fine" I nod and hold the pillows tighter.

"no your not come here" he says putting the blankets on the ground. I give him a confused look.

"friendly gesture?" he shrugs and does something I'd never expect him to do. I feel him wrap his arms around me. I guess I was really spooked because I dropped the pillows immediately and wrapped my arms around his torso. I don't even care that he's him. I don't care how he's acted toward me in the past. his hug is comforting me. and all I want is comfort right now. I feel him rub my back a little bit and I close my eyes for a minute. then I let go of him and look at him.
