chapter nine

Izzys pov

I look at the clock and its 6:15. my parents came home a little bit earlier today and I told them about going to the drive in movies with Chandler tonight. of course, just like everyone else, they jumped to conclusions. so I had to explain that it wasn't a date. and my mom gave me a lecture to not stay out long because it's a school night. I assured her that the movie started at 7 and I would probably be home around 9-9:30. now I'm sitting in my room with Allie finishing up my hair and Ashley packing a little bag for me. Allie told me to straighten my hair and I told her to do it because I was too lazy. I'm wearing yoga pants and a big sweatshirt that I love so much. since it's the middle of October and kind of chilly, I have fuzzy socks on, I'm gonna put on boots and Ashley is getting together a few blankets.

"alright and done" Allie says brushing out my hair. I look in the mirror and it looks pretty good. I get up and unplug my straightener.  Ashley grins and hands me my bag.

"I don't get why you two are so excited about this. you aren't even going" I laugh.

"but your going out with Chandler. the boy you used to despise. and your gonna start dating and-" Ashley says and I cut her off.

"woah woah. who said anything about dating. this is two friends going out together" I say and cross my arms.

"yea ok" Allie scoffs. I roll my eyes and look at my phone. 6:25. Chandler should be here soon. I make sure I have everything and go downstairs feeling Allie and Ashley close behind.

"oh this is so exciting! he's probably gonna look so cute. under the moonlight" Ashley swoons.

"and you two. with the movie playing. and time all to yourselves" Allie smiles.

"guys quit daydreaming oh my god" I say and shake my head. they laugh and Allie sits on the couch.

"oh Ash, we forgot to tell you. when I came over here yesterday for a good 5 minutes. Izzy and I saw him shirtless" Allie grins and wiggles her eyebrows.

"what?! no fair!" Ashley pouts and crosses her arms.

"well I quickly left the room. Allie stared and made some stupid comment" I laugh.

"it's called flirting. and you only left the room because you like him but you didn't want to stare" Allie says. I roll my eyes and there's a knock at the door. both Allie and Ashley push me out of the way and try to open it. I get up and shove them both aside.

"would you two calm down!" I whisper yell and fix my hair. I open the door and they quickly get up and fix themselves. Chandler is standing there with his hair brushed naturally to the side. he has a sweatshirt on and he has a pair of black baggy sweatpants on with tennis shoes. he's in his laid back attire but that's ok. I am too. and that's what I wanted him to be in, he looks adorable that way.

I smile "hi Chandler"

"hey Izz. I see your friends are here" he chuckles. I look behind me and Allie and Ashley are there smiling like idiots.

"yea you know Allie and this is Ashley" I say and lean against the door.

"I've seen you around school too" he says to Ashley and holds out his hand for her to shake. she shakes his hand and giggles a little. Allie shakes her head and face palms herself.

"anyways on that note, shall we go?" I say.

"we shall" he smiles and nods.

"bye mom! bye dad!" I yell into the kitchen.

"bye honey have fun!" my mom yells.

"and both of you. go home" I say to Allie and Ashley. Chandler starts to walk to his car. I look at Ashley and Allie one more time. Ashley's giving me a thumbs up and Allie keeps smirking at me. I roll my eyes and shut the door. I put my bag in the back of Chandlers car and sit in the passenger seat.
