I jumped up and stumbled into Levi because of getting up too fast in my high heels. He caught me by my shoulders, helped ready me, and then quickly let go. "Are you ok?! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to scare you." Levi says, with a chuckle.

"It's ok!" I say while rubbing the back of my head, my face slowly turned hot. "Is it just me or is it hot in here?" I said, which was the first thing that popped into my head.

"Now that you mentioned it, it is pretty hot in here. Do you want to go out back? It's a lot cooler." He suggested.

"Yeah, sure." I said looking down at my feet with a little smile.

We walked to the back door and opened it. The cool night air hit my flushed face. We sat on the grass, the faint boom of base thudded in the background.

"The stars are pretty.", I said as a conversation starter and pointed at the sky. 'Lame.' I thought, 'That was lame, Leah. You can do better than that!'

"Yeah, but not a pretty as you...", Levi said faintly. My face flushed as I looked at him speechless, I was thankful that it was darker outside to mask my tomato face. Levi glanced at me, "I-I'm sorry! That was very cliché."

"No, no! It's ok! Thanks." I said as I picked at the end of my dress. "So... What brought you here to this party?" I asked.

Levi laid back so he leaned on his forearms as he watched the stars. "My friends invited me so I decided to go. How about you?"

"Atermis convinced me, I don't really like these kind of things." I said studying Levi. His eyes gleamed in the dim light radiating from the house and his amber, tussled hair as if he just woke up but it suited him. I sat so close that I could feel his body heat and he smelled like he just came from the ocean beach. I liked the way his mouth pulled up on one side all the time in a half smirk. I wanted to stay here forever. We talked about small things like places we wanted to go and visit, what each other liked, and we even delved into the never endlessness of space.

At one point in the night Levi looked at me and our faces were so close. I felt my heart racing but I remanded calm as Levi reached his hand towards my face and slowly leaned in closer.

The back door flew open and slammed into the wall. Atermis stumbled out with a solo cup in her hand. The closeness of me and Levi broke as our heads swung to see who it was.

"Leah! You should come in here and dance with me!" Her words were slurred and she spilled some of her drink.

"I-I gotta probably go..." I said standing up and I brushed grass off of my dress. I grabbed Atermis and looked back at Levi, who was now on his feet.

"See you later?" He asked.

I smiled, "Yeah."

I was almost to the car with Atermis slung around my shoulders, drunk, when Levi ran up to us and handed me a torn piece of paper with scribbles on it. "Text me.", He said and then walked away. I smiled and helped Atermis into the passenger side. Tonight was a phenomenal.
