"What do you mean that I'm not safe?"
"Did you witness what just happened or-" Spencer trailed off.
"I did but.." I didn't know what to say.
"Okay then." He grabbed my forearm, I of course retrieved it.
"I can handle myself Spencer. I have been for a long time, I don't need your aid..."
"No you can't and you will need my help. This situation is different and-"
"I'm sure they're people who deal with breaking and entry." I walked pass him heading to the kitchen. "Besides it looks like he didn't take anything. If they wanted something that was here before its not here now." I slammed the microwave door setting the timer on 60 seconds.
"Listen Cordelia, you're a smart girl and-"
"And what? If I don't come with you, I'm stupid?"
"Can you just stop cutting me off and listen. " I turned away from him to grab the warmed mug.
"Okay. Talk." Leaning on the counter with both my arms over my chest, I listen. Reluctantly.
"Come with me for a few days just to make sure that this person isn't a threat. You'll be-"
"But he isn't a thre..." Spencer gave me a warning look for me to finish that sentence. He rolled his eyes continuing. "You'll be better off away from the house for at least a week, if not than more." I eyed him suspiciously.
"A week, at your house? Are you trying to held me captive?"
"Yes." I wasn't expecting him to answer in that blunt response.
"You're insane." I pushed pass him and I went straight to the door. It was open and ready for him to step out. "Now will you please exit out of my home?" I felt the chill of the cold air sweep pass my legs. My toes curled in my slippers at the feeling.
Spencer strolled slowly towards me. "I'm trying to help you Cordelia but.." He stepped out the door. "If you don't want it." He paused again and started to walk down my steps pulling his black jacket tighter around him.
"That's too bad." My head jerked back as I glared at his covered back. Slamming the door and stomping to the kitchen to retrieve my cup. Once I was done with my tea, I place it on the highest shelf in the cabinet.
There was whisk breeze that made me double over and lay my forearms on the counter and my head hung just above the cool granite.
I tense when the temperature inflates. I'm suddenly too hot for my robe and too hot for the heater. I rock myself back, with my head still hung low. I yelped when I felt something bump me slightly right back into the counter. I promptly circuited around but saw nothing. Goosebumps on my arms elaborated my body, I shiver at the delicate breeze that hits my nose. Dangerously delicious.
My dilated eyes scanned every nick and cranny that was visible. I took double takes around the house. What if it was that knave? I scurried to my entrance door and locked top and bottom. But he could still possibly be here? I banged my head on the wooded door.
"Maybe I should have left with him..." There was a far distance growling sound. My heart stood still at it. Spencer? No it was different, way different. I continued to listen to the distant sound that lead me back in the kitchen. Then there was nothing. Am I hearing things?
After I had flipped my house upside down, inside and out. I found nothing, utterly nothing. I was getting fustrated and began talking out loud. I swear I slightly heard laughter at least I thought that's what it was. It freaked me out because where it came from there was nothing nor anyone there.
