Ch 17: Explanations

Hunter's POV

I run up to the front door of the pack house. I smell dinner going and walk up to my room. Shift back and put on a loose shirt and sports shorts. I then walk down to the dining room and start to think of the past few days.

*Flashback to after leaving town*

I look back at the town and silently thank them for the help. I then continue to run into the woods and searching for prints of wolves and people. Although they didn't go into town that doesn't mean that they didn't go around it. Black-Scar knows the land and they are trying to find her well they won't get to, I won't let them. I continue running for a few hours before I come across a river and a square of clear land. There are no trees and no bushes, there is a circle of stones and a tree stump next to it. I looks like I reached the south-corner border. I go into the square and look at the stones they have sunken into the ground from being there for so long and have a stone base in a circular pattern. A fireplace. I sit on the stump and eat some of the food the town gave me. I hear a ring and take out my phone. Alpha Daniel texted me saying to come home. I text a quick reply and turn around and head back, going around the town this time.

*back to present*

I walk into the dining room and see the previous Alpha and Luna. I bow my head to them then to Alpha Daniel. I then look around again and see a woman I don't know and some other pack members eating. I pick up some food from the counter and then take an empty seat. They all look to me and then continue eating. The woman's gaze stays though, almost as seeing through me.

"You are Hunter I assume?" She says. "I am Diana's mother. I hope you got some good information on who took her because everyone else is stuck somewhere between here and the other packs." I nod my head and start eating. She continues to stare. "I would appreciate a verbal response and to know the information." I put down my fork and look at her.

"Hello, I am Hunter. Where would you like me to start?" She smiles.

"Who took my daughter?"

"We know it was a rouge group and because they attacked from the north I went south to see if someone saw a group like them pass through in the past year. A small village said that a rogue group named Black-Scar passed through in three groups. The first killed the second took food and the third gave a message and then left. The message was a warning to watch out for a silver haired girl and a black raven. The group said that they are dangerous and bloodthirsty. They said that the group was made out of black cape people and mostly black fur wolves." She nods and thinks for a minute.

"So you think that they went through the town and up passed the pack lands to attack, and take my daughter." She says. "They would have had to travel in between the pack lands and that is a thin stream that opens to river." The land is mostly open around it and so they would have been spotted easily. A black wolf in the middle of the day is too noticeable alone, much less a large group of them. And a lantern in the night can be seen just as easily, and the river twists, turns and has too many rocks to walk up without light. Your story does not add up. Also please say a motive for them to take her."

"Well, I am sure you know that the moon and provide just enough light to see in the woods at night in the thickest of areas and you said that the river is mostly open. That solves your light problem. Also there could me many reasons for them to take her. It could be because she is the representative, it could be because they're rouges and they don't need a reason. Or it could be because there is something special about her that I don't know." She nods and takes a sip of water.

"You make a good point. What do you think Star?" The man that I recognize as Alpha Star nods his head and continues to eat.

"I think that the point is good and the rogues might know about her even though it is well hidden." Alpha Star says. I think about it, when they say her they are referring to Diana right? Not her right. I mean I first saw her when Diana showed up. She fits the description of her well. And they said that they hid something well even though the rogues know.

"May I ask what you hid from the rogues." Diana's mother nods her head and looks to Alpha Star and then Alpha Daniel.

"Diana, is the moon princess." She says blankly. I nod my head, I don't understand so I ask for her to explain. "Well, I am the Moon Goddess and so Diana is the Moon Princess. That means she has powers and has lots of influence. She also could be the Queen of the underworld, but that would only be a title because she is not the daughter of Hades and Persephone." Alpha star drops his food and looks up. He growls that he is going to kill him. But he doesn't say who he is going to kill. Moon goddess smiles and shakes her head. "She is very important and if we don't get her back there may not be anymore new mates after I retire to Olympus. Once I go there and retire my powers go to her making her more powerful and giving her all of the responsibilities or having the title. Each birthday I give her slightly more power so I have less. It is an easy way of transitioning the power and she doesn't get overwhelmed." I now understand why the rogues want her. The power of having a goddess for you to play a advantage in the game.

The Moon Goddess picks up her plate and puts it in the dishwasher. She then says for everyone enjoy the meal and that she is going to find Alpha Star and stop him from going on a rampage.

Thanks for reading and hope you enjoy. Sorry for the short chapter I am just having trouble moving the story forward. I don't want to make it go too slow or too fast and I know what I want and need to happen I just don't know how.
