Percy's POV

I do not like homework. Homework is bad and unfun even though that isn't a real word. "How are you not done yet?" Hermione asked. "Even Ron finished before you!"
I sighed and started to write.

Rachel's POV

"Styx," I muttered under my breath. Why did we have to chose this path? The Minotaurs keep reforming in .0002 seconds and more and more keep coming! We fought through the hallway and found ourselves in another room similar to the huge room we were in earlier.
So far things were going bad, now, as we figured things couldn't get any worse, it got terrible. The drakon emerged from a passage and started spewing acid and fire, and then a hydra came. Why does Clarrise get to stay in school? That's way better than this even though a math test is coming up which, I'm terrible at. "I got the hydra!" Leo shouted as he started shooting fire balls at it.
Feeling pretty helpless with just one hairbrush, I decided to take a step back and just stand and watch with Piper. "So..." I said. "How's life?" I asked not sure what to say.
"Pretty bad," she replied. "What about you,"
"Not so great," I answered, ducking as a fireball went over my head.
   "Sorry!" Leo yelled.
   "Aim better!" I shouted.
I watched the rest of the people fight. Annabeth slashing and jabbing the Cyclopes, Sadie exploding the Minotaurs which seemed to be working, Carter randomly slashing at the air near the drakon, Jason ducking and jabbing the Minotaurs which didn't seem to be working as well as Sadie's exploding tactic, and Leo, who had just defeated the hydra and was now firing fire balls at the drakon.
"I feel like we should do something," I said.
"Me too but, there isn't really anything to do," Piper said
"What if Leo just like pulled out a sword from his tool belt,"
"Good idea!" Leo shouted from across the room and pulled out a celestial bronze sword. He inched his way towards us and finally, threw it at us. We ducked not wanting to get sliced as it hit the wall. Piper picked it up. "Thanks!" She called out to Leo and started to join in the fight.
   "What about me?" I asked.
He pulled another sword out and gave it to me. "Have you ever used one before?" He asked.
"Well... No but I could probably manage," I said as we both started to fight the drakon.
I ducked as it spit acid and started to approach it, getting closer at each step. Leo threw a fireball. I ducked letting it hit the drakon in the face. The drakon, barely affected continued to spit acid. I was close enough to touch it now and jabbed it, climbing on to its head, now mounted, I continuously jabbed its head in the same place vigorously as the drakon thrashed and spewed acid and fire carelessly, hitting its tail with its own acid. It screeched in pain and tried to fling me off like one of those bull ride things. Keeping a good grip on the sword that was embedded in between one of its scales, I closed my eyes, not wanting to look and swiftly moved my arms to wrap around its neck. I opened my eyes and saw myself rising up as the drakon started to reach its full height. "Rachel! Be careful!" Annabeth yelled from beneath.
I could barely see her now. How high was the ceiling? I wondered. I continued going up and up, the ceiling was right ahead of me coming towards me in an alarming speed. It was going to hit me across it causing me to be a Rachel pancake. I braced myself for the impact, it was going to hit me any moment but instead, somehow, I went through the ceiling and saw the night sky. It was outside! The drakon continued going up. I continued to hold on to the drakon tightly. I saw the bright stars creating constellations and the brilliant dazzling light of the moon. Then, suddenly, the drakon plummeted downwards going faster and faster, gaining speed. It was like one of those big drops at an amusement park but even worse. I struggled to hold on, letting a scream escape. We reached the bottom and it tried to fling me off. My grip was loosening and I started to slip, sliding down the smooth neck of the drakon landing on my feet. I sighed, realizing that the sword was still stuck up there. Leo threw a fireball at the drakon as Annabeth jabbed it finishing it off causing it to explode into golden dust, quickly going back to work on the Minotaurs. The sword dropped onto the floor with a clang. I went to pick it up and looked over to the action. The Cyclopes were now all gone but now, there were more and more Minotaurs coming by the second.

Sadie's POV

I sighed feeling like this was pointless. My technique was starting to fail and I was getting really tired. Suddenly, I felt really dizzy, I was starting to black out. "Sadie!" I heard Carter say as I fainted.

I saw a white light and quickly sat up wondering where I was. I was sitting on a bed underneath a window. The room was wide and spacious with only a dresser and the bed. On the left was a set of French style doors leading out to a balcony. The sweet scent of fruit filled the air making me hungry. When was the last time I ate? Oh right, during the maze, eating tool belt granola bars. They tasted pretty gross. I think I'm going to go check out where the food is.

Annabeth's POV

"What do we do with Sadie?" I asked, as we all looked at a what seemed like a dead Sadie. When Sadie passed out, all of the Minotaurs had exploded into golden dust. "She's still alive," Carter said. "If she died from overusing her magic she would of exploded,"
"That would be clean," Leo said sarcastically.
"Yeah, with blood spewing out everywhere," Jason said.
"And her limbs would go all over the place,"
"That would be nice," I added with sarcastically
"Should we continue going?" Piper asked.
I scanned the scene. "Okay," I said "who's going to hold/drag Sadie?"
    "I will," Carter said.
"Are you sure you could handle the weight?" I asked.
   "Erm... Never mind," he said.
   "Anyone want to volunteer?"
Jason sighed. "I guess I will,"
   "Are you sure?" I asked.
   "Yes,"
   "Okay,"
Jason touched her and accidentally electrocuted her. "Whoops," he said as we face palmed.
Jason held her, fireman style, and we all started to trudge into the dark unknown.

Percy's POV

I looked up, drowsily just waking up. It was almost midnight. I looked at the piece of parchment under me. "Ugh," I said looking down at what I had written.

Percy Jackson.

   Potions are important because

That was all I had written. Hermione came over to check on me. "Seriously? How are you not done yet? It's been like six hours!"
Ron and Harry came over and just face palmed. "Wow, I can't believe Ron beat you in time," Hermione said disappointed. "Even Ron," she repeated shaking her head.
"Hey! It doesn't matter about the time, it matters about how good you do," I said
"Yeah, and Ron somehow actually did really good,"
"Oh Styx," I muttered and quickly started writing/doodling. Hey, I might need some diagrams!
..............
Okay so, I have a few things to talk about. ONLY A FEW MORE DAYS TILL TRIALS OF APOLLO!!! DID ANYONE READ THR EXCERPT! Soo good. Okay so, next I realized that there's only a few more months till I actually go to MIDDLE SCHOOL! Ugh. Hopefully I get into some honors. Lastly, actually, I forgot what I was going to write.
