I felt like I was back at Hogwarts being on the back of this hippogriff. It was flying me to the tower, just as planned. I looked down to see Caspian and the other guys standing at the entrance to the underground tunnel, just as planned. The hippogriff reaches the tower and lands softly on the roof, and I slide off of its back. "Thank you." I say as it flies away.
I lean over the wall on the tower to see if the courtyard area down below is clear, and of course, it is. I look down towards Caspian, Peter, Edmund, and Draco to give them the signal, but when I look I see them trying to shout something at me. I can't quite make out what they're saying, but they seemed to be pointing behind me. Just then a sword came swooshing down right beside my head and came in contact with the wall in front of me. I gasped extremely loud while jumping back and drawing my own sword. As I was drawing my sword I glanced down at the four guys to see them covering their faces with their hands in shock. "The courtyard is clear!" I yelled at the top of my lungs to make sure they heard me, in which they did and made sure I knew by giving me the thumbs up.
With the hilt of the sword held tightly in my right hand, I swung at the guard which just happened to be the young one from the dungeon. "You again," I said rolling my eyes not looking amused. "Miss me?" He said tauntingly while raising his left eyebrow. "Not a chance!" I yelled back at him. I swung again, this time nicking him on his upper left arm. "Oh, you've gotten better since last time." He said wiping the blood from his cut. "I wasn't strong enough last time." I implied.
I realized that he wasn't about to swing at me, so I took the opportunity to win this fight. I pulled my left arm back, and punched him right in the side of his head. His head flung back and he dropped to the ground, dropping his sword which hit the ground with a huge clang. I heard the wooden door opposite me on the tower creak open, and I braced myself for another guard attack. To my surprise, Draco came running out the door and pulled me into a tight hug.
"Are you alright?" He asked sounding concerned. "I'm fine." I responded pulling away from the hug. The two of us leaned over the wall to see that the courtyard was filling with Caspian's army all yelling with weapons drawn in the air. We saw the King's army run straight towards them from a large door from the weaponry.
The yelling from both armies was such a loud, overpowering sound and it felt as if the floor under our feet was shaking. All of a sudden, the two armies clashed and the courtyard fell completely silent. The only sound that could be heard was the clinking of metal.
Caspian, Peter, and Edmund came running through the door and stopped when they saw us. Peter walked up to me placing a hand on my left shoulder. "Are you alright?" Peter asked me looking into my eyes. "Yes yes I'm fine." I replied smiling. I could see out of the corner of my eye that Draco was giving Peter a look. Peter took his hand off my shoulder and smirked at Draco before turning around to face Caspian.
"Where do we find your father?" Edmund asked so we could get all this over with. "Ah yes. Follow me." Caspian said turning on his heels and walking through the wooden door. Caspian began leading us down a dark hallway. The floor, walls, and ceiling were cobblestone, with torches lining the walls. We were walking for about a minute when Draco grabbed my arm and pulled me into a little space in one of the walls. "Hermione lets go." He said looking desperate. "Draco, we can't just leave them. We have a mission and we need to stay with them in order to accomplish it." I said sternly. "But Hermione, they don't need us. We're just getting in their way. And besides, we need to stay alive and well enough to go back to Hogwarts and help battle the Death Eaters and Voldemort." He argued back. I heard footsteps coming down the hallway and tensed.
"We're staying." I said looking back at Draco. Peter stopped in front of the little space we were in and stared down Draco. "Is there a problem?" He said with an annoyed tone in his voice. "Yeah, there is." Draco snapped back. "Oh, and what would that be?" Peter replied raising his voice. "Stop trying to get with Hermione!" Draco yelled in his face. "You think I'm trying to get with her?! There's something called friendship okay?!" Peter yelled at Draco at the top of his lungs. "Stop the both of you! You're going to attract attention to us!" I whisper-yelled at them. We then heard multiple footsteps running from both directions in the hallway. The three of us stepped out from the little space and into the middle of the hallway to find three guards on either side of us.
