Chapter 4

Tris's POV

A little while later, I wake up for no specific reason. Tobias has one arm slung over my shoulder, and the other arm around my waist.

I don't want to wake him up, but I have to get up. I can't feel my butt. I slowly undrape his arm form around me, and walk to the door.

I look out expecting to see something familiar. But all I see is trees. Nothing but trees. And then we pass over something I have never seen before.

A large body of water. Like huge. And we are right over it. I run over to Tobias, and shake him awake.

"Tobias, come on. You gotta see this."

He stumbles up, and walks to the door. His eyes widen, and his jaw drops.

"What in the.. Actually, I have read about these. It's like the lake that we used to have in our city, but bigger."

Just the way the light is hitting it right now, it's just perfect. No doubt about it. We stand there just looking out at it, until it eventually is going out of sight.

We return to the back of the car, and sit down.

"How much longer do you thing we have? What do you think it's gonna be like? Do you think we are gonna know anybody?"

Tobias just chuckles.

"THat's my little curious stiff. And to answer you're questions, I'm not exactly sure. I'm not exactly sure. And I'm not exactly sure."

I just glare at him.

"You're no help."

He laughs, and puts his arm around my shoulder again. WE sit there in a comfortable silence for a while. Tobias breaks it eventually.

"You know, I never really thought about how long we would have to be on the train. I don't even know how long it takes to get where we are going. Heck, I don't even know where we are going. We need to find something else to do on this train other than sit here and talk."

Right about the time he says this, the train starts slowing dow. And this train is slowing down a lot more than the trains at hime do. In fact, it is coming to a complete stop.

We exchange confused looks before grabbing our bags, and walking to the door. We jump off before it even stops. I guess some people notice us walking up, because a large group begins walking towards us.

I don't think I notice any of them, except one. Even. Tobias tenses up, and wraps his arm around me waist. I guess she notices this, because she stays toward the back of the group.

A large man with red hair walks up and extends his his hand out for Tobias to shake. He hesitates at first, but then extends his hand also.

"I'm Logan, i guess you could call me the leader of this area. Well, actually, I'm not a leader. We don't recognize a specific leader here. We have all come from broken governments, and don't want to set a specific government. Where are you folks from?"

Tobias and I exchange glances, and he begins to say something, but is interrupted by Evelyn.

"They are from Chicago. They came from the faction system. Just like several of us."

I take a good look around, and notice a lot of black and white, and small parts of blue, grey, yellow, and red. And then their is a group with a mix of everything.

Those were the faction-less. Logan just nods, and asks us to follow him. We follow him into a small building with a desk, computer, and file cabinet against the wall.
