Chapter 18

As I waddled away from the house, the contractions slowly began getting worse. Just as far apart, but equally as painful. I do as the doctor has told me to do when something like this happens, and breathe through the pain.

"Alright, this is where I leave ya. The office is swamped with new arrivals today, and I have to be back to reassign them. I wish you all the best of luck in your journey, and that everyone makes it back safely." Logan gives me a pointed look, with a slight smile, and walks away.

Luke claps his hands together, and points towards the woods.

"Alright, well let's get this show on the road!" He says, more excitedly than I have ever heard him speak before. He bounds off into the woods, the rest of the group dragging behind me.

Lilac slows down to catch up to me in the back, and smiles when she catches my eye.

"How's baby Lilac in there?" She says, poking at my ever growing belly. I smirk at her, and swat her hand away.

"Lilac, as much as I love you, I am not naming my daughter Lilac. Peeta and I haven't decided on a name yet, actually." I say, like it's really not a big deal. She gasps, placing a hand over her mouth.

"Katniss Everdeen, I am SO disappointed. In all this time, you could have asked me!" She says loudly, causing the attention of the whole group to flip towards us.

"What is the hold up?" Luke asks, sounding agitated. I groan, and shove Lilac lightly.

"See what you started?" I groan, and shake my head. K runs up to me, grabbing my arms.

"Can I help?" She says, an excited look in her eyes. I grin at the two girls who I have grown so fond off in the past months, and nod my head.

We spent the next hour and a half brain storming names, and by the end, even all the guys have jumped in.

"What about Zay?" Ashton suggest, a smile spreading across his face. I grin, and nod my head.

"That's a better one than your sisters suggestions, I say shorting a playful grin towards K. She smirks back at me, and shakes her head.

"I don't see what's so wrong with naming your daughter Kaylana." She says, sounding a bit non chalant, as if it's not my child's future we are talking about.

We goof off for a while longer, and all of a sudden, a large crack comes from the woods. We all stop laughing, and freeze in our tracks, immediately scanning the perimeter. I pull an arrow from my quiver, and place it into my bow with incredible speed.

Tobias has his gun drawn, and I can hear him click a bullet into place. I spin in a small circle, and when I come up short in my search, I turn towards Tobias. His eyes are steadily scanning just like I did, and they occasionally flicker towards the rest of the group.

Just as I'm about to put my bow down, another branch snaps, and a large animal jumps from behind a cluster of trees. I don't recognize it right off the bat, but after a moment, I realize that it is a mutt from my first games. The large dog-like animal that chased Peeta, Cato, and I to the cornucopia.

"Run!" I yell, beginning to sprint to the best of my ability. Surprisingly enough, my chubby feet carry me to a large clearing where the rest of the gang is now running towards a lake, placed directly in our path.
