Muni - to think deeply, to ponder.

"Hello! This is Alexander Luthor. I'm sorry I cannot get to the phone right now, please leave a message after the beep. Thank you again." I hung up and exhaled deeply. I looked around the around the plane, wondering whether or not I should stay on the flight. Before I had left Lex had told me to call him to check in once I had gotten on the flight, and to not let the plane leave until he answered.

Yet he still hadn't answered my phone calls. The last one I had made was the sixth.

It was stupid and childish in my opinion, but I obeyed what Lex had told me from before and got off the plane. After all he was my boss. He insisted that he would answer...

So here I was, walking the streets of Metropolis, on my way to Lex's mansion. I was all fine until I then found the last thing I'd expect. I was standing just across the street from the LexCorp building when I could see a woman fall from what seemed to be the roof. Her screams rang in my ears.

I then watched as the man from the sky, came out of no where and saved her. My breath hitched in my throat. There the man stood just a road away from me. The false God, the man in the sky. The light and hope for all those who needed it. The savior of thousands...Yet also the same time the murderer of millions. The renegade. The kryptonian that almost killed us all.

Superman.

I shook my head quickly, making sure I wasn't seeing things. I wasn't. I could hear her speak to him.

"You came back...You came back..." I then could see the two of them kiss each other. I tried to ignore it and walked across the street to get to Lexcorp. Yet it was hard to ignore when he took off. A burst of air hit me in the face. I looked to the woman who he had saved. She looked at me in horror. Now I recognized her. She was Lois Lane.

She looked at me in horror, but not in a way as if she was afraid of what she had just faced. More like a horror of me seeing what she had just faced.

"I-I'm sorry..." I stuttered out, shaking my head. She shook her head.

"Emily...Penny Cosnette." my eyes bulged. How did she know my name?

"Yes... I believe you're Lois Lane?" she nodded slightly.

"I think you're just what I need..." I raised my eyebrows.

"H-how do you m-mean? How do you know my name?" I asked as I was now shaking.

"Everyone does. You work for Lex Luthor. You're his 'hot assistant.' I know it's a long shot for you to believe but..." she then looked at the sky. "We need to go. I've got some things for you to do but I need you. Can you follow?" I nodded, shrugging. I wasn't sure what else I was supposed to do. Despite her calling me Lex's 'hot assistant' I hadn't found much wrong with the situation. I looked in her eyes and I saw that she needed me. I was one to help, always.

I then followed her as she got a taxi quickly. I got in as she told the driver where we were going, apparently to the Daily Planet. She opened the door on her side to get in, then stopped. I watched her as she gasped. I didn't know what she was looking at but I could tell it was important. And I could also tell she was most likely talking to a person. Before I could get the chance to look over and see what was going on, my phone rang.
