Lucy's POV:

I stayed up later than planned finishing the assignments that were due tomorrow. Procrastination played a big part in that.

When I had got home from school, Eve and Dad had surprised me with a giant pink cake. I swear that I had like, six pieces.

Also, Dad said that I didn't have to work part time at the shop during the week if I didn't want to. I think he knows that school can be stressful and that having to deal with hungry customers isn't the best idea after an already stressful day.

However, I decided that I would try to keep working during the week. But only for two hours. Which was half of my regular shift unless I wanted to stay at Sweet Tooth longer.

However, today was not the day to start that. I was too weary after what happened. The day just seemed to drag on after lunch.

Even worse, I found out that the boy who beat me up was in three in my classes. Gym, Spanish, and Science.

Yay me.

I hardly payed attention to anyone else besides him. I made sure that I sat as far away from him as I could when I got to choose my seat in my following classes.

I noticed no one else. I was too paranoid to watch anyone but him out of fear he would beat me up again if I wasn't careful.

Tomorrow will be my second day as a senior at my new school.
-----
The next morning, I actually got up when my alarm clock rang out. There was no way that I was going to make the same mistake I made yesterday.

No way.

I put on my green graphic tee and blue skinny jeans as I stumbled around my room looking for my makeup bag.

Where the hell did I place it?

Ugh, it was so like me to easily forget where I placed my stuff. It was a real pain sometimes.

I groaned. Of course I lost the most important thing in my life right when I needed it.

I gave up looking for it and went into the bathroom to brush my hair.

I opened up the drawer to grab my hairbrush and found that it was also gone.

Of course.

Now I was frustrated. Where the heck did all my stuff go? I've got people to impress at school today!

I ran downstairs. Maybe Eve had the hairbrush in her room. I mean, it was suppose to be mine but Eve had a thing for often taking my things without asking.

"Eve? Can I come in? I think my hairbrush is in your room," I said as I softly knocked on her door.

I huffed when there is no reply.

"Alright I'm coming in!" I say as I throw open her door.

Sure enough, there was my hairbrush. It was sitting right on her dresser. Damn you Eve; ask next time.

I looked around Eve's room. She was nowhere to be seen. Weird. Eve was not a morning person, so it was strange to see her up earlier than normal.

Dad was also gone. He had left a note on the fridge saying,

Went to work early, won't be back until tomorrow morning. Eve went to a party last night when you fell asleep. She should be back in time to drive you to school. Have a great day at school Lu.
Love, Dad

Well, Eve wasn't back yet. We were suppose to leave soon too. That wasn't very reassuring.

"You know what? Screw makeup! It's been twenty minutes and I haven't seen it anywhere! Deal with it Ambers!" I say to myself, exasperated.
