Lucy's POV:

"So I was thinking, what if we put the soda full of mentos in bottles and taped them to our legs so that when we released the tops, we would fly up!"

I smiled as I placed my books in my locker. Andrea had been hanging out with Blake and I for about three days now and she had already opened up so much since the first day. It was actually kinda cute.

"How would you get the cap off the bottle?" I said, closing my locker.

Andrea's face dropped. I snickered. She looked at me and cracked a tiny smile. "Yeah I guess that would be a problem," she said.

The warning bell rang. "I'll see you later, Luce!" She said as she ran off down the hall, bumping into about three people in the process. I trailed her movements with my eyes. I turned around and was instantly greeted with a pleasant aroma that I had grown used to. Baked goods and fabric softener. I looked up. Blake.

I smiled up at him. "Hello there, you're kind of in my way. You see, English is right behind you and-"

Blake snorted, cutting me off mid-sentence. "What's so funny?" I asked. He looked at me. "You've got pencil lead smudges on your face," He replied.

My hand immediately flew to my face, scrubbing viciously at the grey smudge.

"Gone?"

Blake nodded. I hoisted my backpack further up onto my shoulders. "Sooooo, class is starting now," I said motioning toward the classroom doors. Blake laughed, "Right, see you next period, Button."

I got into English right before the bell rang.  My eyes scanned the room. Dozens of kids scrambling to their seats before the teacher entered the room.

I heard my phone buzz. I looked down at it. It was a message from Blake.

Hey, want to watch me practice after school today? It's not a formal one so it shouldn't be as long.

I cracked a tiny smile. I always loved watching Blake playing it was just so entertaining watching the scene play out. His entire attitude seemed to take on a different form. He went from being a playful, funny, caring person to a leader, strict, and competitive.

Sure, I text.

"Ambers! Is that a cell phone I see out?" Mr. McKinley calls out to me.

I flush red and shove my phone into my bag. "No, sir."

Mr. McKinley rolled his eyes. "Alright then, moving on...."
-----
"So it's just you today?" I ask as I walk up to an already damp Blake.

Blake looks up from his push-up and smiles at me. "Hey Button, thanks for coming to practice today."

I roll my eyes, a smirk on my face. "Is this what you usually do when you practice by yourself?"

Blake did another push-up. "Kinda, I try to incorporate new stretching and catching techniques every day. But I do try to keep to the same type of routine."

I sat down on the ground and placed my bag beside me. I watched Blake grunt through another three push-ups before speaking again. "Mind if I join in?"

Blake gave me a surprised look. "Uh, sure, I guess."

I grinned and pulled my hair into a short ponytail. I threw off my sweatshirt and positioned myself next to Blake on the grass. I then began to wheeze my way through push-ups. I would glare at Blake every time I caught him biting down a laugh.

We moved into sit-ups next. Blake was able to get through 73 while I completed about 6. It's not my fault though! Blake kept making me laugh!

We went through several exercises before I finally collapsed on the grass, coughing and wheezing and breathing hard. Blake sat down next to me and burst out laughing.

"Fuck....off," I panted, slapping Blake's leg. He looked at me. "You did awesome for a person that never works out, Button." I glared at him. He laid down on the grass next to me. We were both out of breathe, sweaty, and most likely smelly as well. He turned his head around to look at me. I looked at him.

"Have you ever been to a Halloween party before?"

I stared at him, baffled by his question. Blake laughed. "Have you ever been to a Halloween party before? C'mon Luce it's a simple question." I shook head.

Blake raised his eyebrows. "Never? Huh. Well, I guess that means that I have to take you to the party now."

Now it was my turn to raise my eyebrows. "Excuse me?"

"There's a party one of the guys on the team is throwing on Halloween and I was wondering if you would be interested in going. But now you have no choice because you haven't ever been to a party before," Blake said, simply.

I stared at him. Me? At a party? I had never been to one since kindergarten and I never planed on going to one any time soon. One time, Eve came home completely drunk, with almost no clothes on and ended up puking for hours. I have been traumatized since.

"Don't worry about it, all I need you to do is buy a Halloween costume or something and show up at my house at 4:00 on the 31st."

I slowly nodded my head. Maybe Eve was right. I need to put myself out there more often. I guess this was a good place to start.
-----
Hi! She's going to a Halloween costume party! Any costume ideas? Anyway, it is currently very late at night so I'm so sorry if this chapter has a lot of grammar errors in it!
