Daryl's alarm went off loudly, making him cringe in extreme and utter laziness. All Daryl wanted to do was lay there for forever, and never get up. Daryl rolled off of the side of his bed, falling onto his butt on the way down. Sure, he loved work, but truly he hated waking up. Daryl ran his hands down his face, as if that would make him less sleepier. He could tell today was going to be boring, if not slow.
"Hey, get up!" Merle's voice rang.
"I am up." Daryl said matter of factly, looking back at him annoyed. Daryl jumped up and stretched his arms. He rummaged through his drawers, finding a Twenty One Pilots t-shirt, and sliding it on quickly. He put on some dark jeans and made his way out the door. Merle was lounged on the couch, sprawled out looking well rested for months.
"See ya later." Daryl said, grabbing his wallet.
"Your keys, there on the table."
"Don't need 'em." Daryl tried to hurry out the door before Merle asked questions.
"How are ya gon' drive without yur keys?" Merle furrowed his brows and smirked.
"I got uh... A ride. Bye." Daryl ran out the door, slamming it shut on his way out. He panted slightly at the strength he had to use to throw the door. Daryl crossed his arms and turned around, facing Rick who was looking at Daryl funny, while locking his door.
"Your uh... In a rush?" Rick said.
"Uhm... Kinda. My brothers not the easiest to talk to."
"Ah, I get it." Rick smirked at Daryl, and led him downstairs ones again.

Rick dropped Carl off at school, then took Daryl to work. Daryl gave Rick his early morning macchiato, and it went on pretty normal after that, nothing big happening. Daryl was extremely exited for the date, and he could tell Rick was too, of course. Rick was practically on cloud 9 when they talked, looking at him with so much energy, it made Daryl crazy. He served a girl with two blonde pigtails and a cheerleading outfit an iced mocha before turning around and accidentally slamming into Carol, spilling coffee grinds all over her apron.
"Damnit, fucking shit."
"Woah... It's okay Daryl." Carol squinted at Daryl and laughed a bit.
"Sorry, I'm just uh... A bit nervous."
"And why's that pookie?"
"Eh, it's not really important..."
Carol frowned at Daryl, even though she knew she always got everything out of him. "Just tell me, you know you want to."
"Rick asked me out to dinner."
"POOKIE! Oh my gosh! That's great!"
"I don't want Rick to know I'm nervous, though."
"Oh, I know how you feel, just relax and know that it's gonna go out great." Carol winked at Daryl and returned back to the vanilla Expresso she had goin' on. Daryl turned around and returned to his earlier state or nervousness.
The day went pretty basically up until 7:00, when Daryl got out. He made himself a coffee, then grabbed his wallet, Merle was supposed to pick him up soon. Daryl saved to Carol, and then rushed through the doors. Merle was of course sitting down, blasting music in his pick-up truck. He smiled when Daryl opened the door and climes in.
"Heya lil bro."
"Um, hey." Daryl scratched out before sticking a cigarette between his lips.
Merle blasted stupid music through the car speakers, and rolled the windows down, which Daryl didn't mind of course. Every time Daryl was driving, he has the windows down, it felt right to him. When they got back to the apartment Daryl instantly started to get ready, taking a shower, combing and washing his hair, blow drying it.
And of course all of his grooming was raising suspicion in Merle, who broke the ice after 20 minutes. "Where are YOU going?"
"Uh... Out."
"With who?"m
Daryl started to get nervous, but knew this was probably the time. "A friend..."
"Seems like this friend wants you to get REAL fancy..."
"It's a guy... I'm gay."
"Yeah, I knew you were kinda fruity."
Daryl's face went blank and Merle started to laugh, making Daryl laugh too.
"I didn't know a Dixon could be gay, but I guess you proved that wrong."
Snarky comment, number one.
Daryl just continued to place his hair messily down his face, trying to look like he tried... But at the same time didn't.
The door bell rang and Daryl looked at the time. 8:03. Damnit. Daryl rushed up and walked towards the door, Ricks smile was extremely bright.
"Damnit, you look gorgeous." Rick sighed and then blushed when he realized he said that out loud.
"T-thanks."
"Oh god this is gayer than Tyler Oakley's ass." Merle was walking away from the door and Daryl just calmly tried to hide his face from embarrassment.

A/N- Okay I know this chapter was extremely long and filled with a bunch of boring stuff, sorry, I had to do something to lead up to the date! Who's also exited?! 😏 comment what you guys think!!
