*one month later*
Daryl uncomfortably twisted in his tent, not able to get any sleep at all. He finally gave up and stood up, the sun already rose so why not be up... Right? Daryl just grabbed his crossbow and opened his tent, shivering from the cold morning air stinging his skin.
He'd kill for some coffee right now.
As if that's a crime anymore, he's already killed a few of those walkers, but it still didn't feel real to him. Daryl heard some noises other than the sound of his breathing and turned around to see Glenn, Andrea, Morales, and T-Dog packing some things in bags. "Hey, Daryl!" Morales yelled, motioning for Daryl to come over to them. He walked to there bags and guns, maybe they were going somewhere. "We're going to go into the city to get some things, tools, weapons. Care to join?"
"Sounds like a dumb plan." Daryl mumbled to an extent so they couldn't here him. "No, I'll just stay here."
"My pussy ass brothers not gonna wanna go anywhere that might get his balls tickled, I'll take that offer." Merle strolled towards a gun, picking it up and twirling it in his hands while snickering. Daryl just sighed and walked away from the trashy disaster that was his brother.
He gave his family a bad name.
Just like his dad.
Daryl felt flustered and of course, like always, frustrated.

*time skip, 6 hours*
"Daryl!" Carl exclaimed, running towards him. "Teach me to hunt?" He asked, smiling. He had pretty much been trying to cheer up Daryl for a while now.
"You really wanna know?" Daryl looked back and squinted.
"Yeah, I'd love to learn. Maybe I'll be able to bring god back for everyone one day, like you."
"Mhm." Daryl smiled a tiny bit at the kids enthusiasm. "Alright, fine. But your moms gotta be okay with it."
*HONK*
There was a loud car horn going off, and a red car started to speed down towards camp. Dale started to check out the car, figuring it was a stolen car. Glenn hopped out of the car when sale and Shane started to yell at him, everyone started asking Glenn questions. Daryl didn't have any part to play in this, other than the well being of his brother, who he didn't see yet, but overheard Glenn saying everyone was fine so he just went back to his tent.

Daryl just laid there, listening to the sound of his knife scratching against a piece of wood. Whenever he got bored as a kid he would carve wood, outside. To Daryl it just felt like he forgot his whole life after he moved, just started acting the way he used to be then how he actually was. He heard some noises of people talking and such. He heard people talking except one, Merle. Daryl walked out of his tent to look around for him, but froze in his footsteps.
No...
Rick. It was definitely Rick, even though Daryl just convinced himself that Rick was dead, gone forever. He was talking to Shane and Dale, with Carl and Lori next to him.
His family.
Daryl wanted to run and hide at this moment, but he couldn't do much other than to keep walking. He was walking slowly, looking for Merle.
"We had to leave-" Glenn started, talking to Dale.
"My brothers where?" Daryl said, of course making Ricks head turn extremely fast. Daryl felt a sting in his heart when Rick looked at him. How could anyone lie to someone like that...
"We had to leave him um... *gulp* On the roof of a building. He's safe, the door was padlocked." Rick said, shaking and staring at the ground, avoiding eye contact with Daryl.
"You left my brother? ON THE TOP OF A FUCKIN' ROOF WITH WALKERS?!" Daryl yelled, smashing his hands on ricks shoulders, pushing him back. Shane grabbed Daryl's arms and pinned him down to the ground, forcing him to calm down.
"HES SAFE! We're going back to get him, were going today." Rick looked directly in Daryl's eyes, making Daryl cringe.
He felt so uncomfortable.
Shane brought him back to his feet, landing him with a punch in the stomach, courtesy of Daryl.
"No... I'll just get him myself... Where is he.." Daryl turned his head to one side, so he didn't have to look at Rick.
"We're going together, T-Dog, Glenn, me, and you."
Daryl just nodded and went along with whatever this was. Lori started to tell Rick things like "Don't go back there!" And "it's not safe!", so Daryl just made his way back to his tent to put on a clean shirt and grab his cross bow before they left.
Daryl heard footsteps and prayed that it wasn't Rick, even though he knew it was. "Daryl..."
Daryl opened his mouth to say something, but it didn't work. He just closed it again and maintained his breathing and not pouring weak tears down his face.
"Daryl please talk to me... I'm so sorry... Truth is,-"
"I don't give two shits." Daryl walked passed Rick and towards the truth they were leaving in. That was that. This was how it was now.
