It started to be like that everyday since Daryl found out Rick lived across the hallway. Rick would pick him up with a huge smile, and drive him to work. Picking up Carl had been a one time thing, since he didn't have school that day. Daryl started to get closer to Rick, but he already knew that Rick wasn't gay, he had a damn kid. So he just agreed his mind to friends, but it was harder than you'd think.
Daryl was astonished when Merle didn't show up for the next couple of days, he said he was comin' to visit. But he just figured that maybe his brother didn't feel like going, or just didn't want to. Daryl was now in the coffee shop, waiting for costumers to start piling up. Rick was acting strange, maybe that day he was just feeling good or somethin', but he wasn't acting all smiley with Daryl. He acted like they barely knew each other, but he only acted like that around his friend, Shane. But when Daryl and Rick were alone, he acted like he had been, friendly, and... if Daryl was correct, flirty.
Daryl shook his head, trying to get away from the thoughts racing in his head. He just tried to listen to a customer and give them there coffee, but he kept forgetting what there orders were and had to keep asking them again.
"Daryl, are you okay?" His co-worker, Carol asked him and took the coffee that was in his hands.
"Yeah... 'M fine." Daryl replied trying to stand up straiter.
"You should go sit down, alright?" Carol smiled and took his order. Daryl just nodded and sat down at one of the tables. Carol had been showing up with bruises lately, and Daryl was certain it was her husband Ed. He was always yelling in the shop, being loud as hell. Daryl brushed the hair in his eyes, back and out of his face.
"Hey, Are you alright?" Ricks voice rang through his ears and Daryl sat up straight. This guy was unpredictable.
"Nothin' I can't handle." Daryl rested his head on his hands and sighed.
"Do you want to come over sometime, maybe have dinner..?"
Daryl looked up at Rick, who was fiddling his fingers, and blushing hard. "Are you... Uh..."
"Yeah. I'm a bisexual man, and I'm asking you out." Rick straightened his hat again and cracked his knuckles.
"S-sure..." Daryl was completely shocked. Rick fuckin' Grimes just asked him out. "Damn, I got lucky." Daryl thought as Rick waved, got up from his seat and left. Daryl just sat there with a happy expression on his face. Daryl's phone began to ring, displaying his favorite song at the moment, Basket Case by Green Day. And of course it was non other than Merle. Shit.
"Hey, shitlocks! What apartment number is yours? Im coming at 8:30."
"Merle. I ain't gonna be done until 9:30, just come to The Grind, we'll drive together."
"Whatever you say, bitch nuts."
The phone line ended and Daryl face palmed. Where the hell does Merle get all of these stupid ass nick-names? Well... Getting away with a date while Merle and his homophobic ass self is around is gonna be hard. Damnit...
