16 With Triplets

Chapter Fourteen: The dramatic birth

I was put in a giant room, Alexi asked for this one so that everyone can fit in and it has three toddler cribs for the Triplets. I was doing well with the Quads I almost carried them to full term, 8 months.

The doctors started monitoring the babies.
"Doctor Mahone, please look at this." The nurse asked.
"Baby one and two are breeching. Prepare for emergency Caesarean section for safer delivery for mum and bubs." The Doctor ordered.
"What's happening?" Sterling asked Lexi.
"We have to do the surgery as a safe way to get the babies out and so Belle doesn't suffer." I heard her explain.
"Get in this sir" a nurse gave him surgery scrubs.
"I'll be right back" Sterling kissed my forehead
"Ok you will feel a little scratch." A nurse told me as she stabbed the needle in my back.

"Ok let's do this" the doctors and nurses wheeled me out of the room. we went into the theatre and Sterling followed.
"Let's have some babies" I was prepped and before I knew it the Baby A was out.
"Baby A, boy" his cry flooded the theatre. The second baby was born
"Baby B, girl" she cried with her brother. Baby C came out.
"Baby C, another girl" she started crying as the doctor gave her to the nurse.  The monitor for the baby's heartbeat began to flatline.
"We need to get this one out now, prepare the oxygen" another doctor ordered and nurses ran around. Tears fell down into my hair.
"Baby D, boy" the nurse cleaned out his mouth, when I saw him he was turning blue. Another nurse put the mask on him and gave him oxygen. He began to cry but it was still weak. The doctors patched me up and we went back to the room. The nurses took all the babies for checkups.
"Has anyone told our families about the labour?" I asked Sterling who was crying about the fourth baby. He dried his face.
"I ask Charlotte, I'll send her home and ask her to take the trio home with her and tell her to keep everyone where they are." He sniffled. He left, I laid there think about everything that just happened. We have three perfectly healthy babies and one that's sick. I hope he gets better. Sterling came back, he came to me and sat in the chair beside the bed. A doctor walked in just as I was about to go to sleep.
"Isabelle Carter?" He asked.
"Yes that's me"
"All your babies are doing fine even the little one, he is in the ICU but he will be out by tomorrow if he continues this, let me tell you he is a fighter. The flatline was caused by the lack of oxygen he had, his lungs are quite small but they will grow nothing major, he may have asthma later but like I said nothing major." He explained.
"Thank God" I said.
"The other three will come in an hour so get some rest." He left. I fell into a deep sleep to be woken up by a cry an hour later.
"They're here" I said.
"Hello sleeping beauty, I filled out the birth certificates all four of them and they are what we discussed even though Sterling Junior 1 and 2 would be awesome" he chuckled, he must have heard the news about #4.
"When the other one joins we should get the triplets, Em and Charlie to come up and after they arrive and the trio have settled the rest of the families should be invited." I told him.
"Are you sure you're up to it?" He asked.
"Sure" I smiled at him.
