Chapter 7 Quiz Night

   "First question!" the voice in the speakers announced. "What is an apprentice Jedi called?"

   I grabbed the computer and quickly typed, Padawan.

   "One point to E=MC Hammer! The answer was padawan. Four more questions!"

   Cisco and Barry gave me a high five. "You're our fastest typer. You do the answers," Barry said.

   "Hmm," I listened carefully for the next question. "That's a compliment coming from the Flash."

   "Second question! Who is Kanen's padawan in the TV show Star Wars: Rebels?"

   I looked from Barry to Cisco. "Have you heard of that show?"

   Cisco and Barry both shook their heads. We looked to Caitlin. She shrugged. "I've nev-"

   "One point to Captain Winter! The answer was Ezra. Three more questions!"

   I turned in my chair and gave the trio a thumbs up. Buck grinned at us, giving me the strong impression that he was the one who'd answered it.

   "Third question! What was the name of Han Solo's ship?"

   My fingers flew across the keyboard. The Millennium Falcon.

   "One point to E=MC Hammer! The answer was The Millennium Falcon. Two more questions!"

   Natasha and Buck both looked like they were suppressing laughter, I couldn't tell if Steve was doing the same.

   "Fourth question! Who was Jabba the Hutt?"

   I smirked and typed, A giant ugly slug that captured Luke Skywalker.

   The announcer laughed. "Both teams answered differently, but one was more accurate. That team was... E=MC Hammer with A giant ugly slug that captured Luke Skywalker! One more question!"

   Everyone started laughing. Barry had slapped his forehead, but it was still clear he we laughing, Cisco was tipping back on his chair, which I was resisting the urge to knock over, and all of Captain Winter were doubled over.

   "Teams focus! Final question! What are the really gigantic ships called?"

   Star Destroyers. There was a loud sound like a bell. "The winner is... E=MC HAMMER!!"

   Everyone cheered, even Captain Winter. They came over to congratulate us. Cisco was watching them with a strange expression.

   Steve sighed and gave me a grudging smile. "Good job. From what Bucky said your fingers were moving pretty fast."

   I grinned. "I'm surprised the keyboard didn't explode."

   Steve's smile grew. "I thought you were going to tell us something."

   Bucky and Natasha came closer so they could hear and I felt Barry, Cisco and Caitlin behind me.

   "Okay then. I told you so."

   Natasha grinned. "Good job Techy. I am surprised you didn't know about Star Wars: Rebels though."

   "Yeah... I haven't gotten that far yet," I grinned at Barry.

   Barry smiled. "None of us have." He turned his attention to Steve. "Good to meet you Cap. You should stop by more often."

   Steve tilted his head. "I might have to, seeing as there are two potential allies here." He gave us both pointed looks.

   Cisco tapped my shoulder. "We need to go," he whispered. "Joe says he found something."

   I looked at him. "What is it? And how do you know?"

   Cisco turned a little pink. "I... told him about you and Barry..."

   So that's what the odd looks are for! I'd wondered. "Oh. Let's go see what he wants then. It'd better not be too important. I'm tired."

   Steve raised an eyebrow at me. "You sure you don't know anything about the Spark and the Flash?"

   "No. I'm not sure. But you'll need to figure out what I know some other time. We need to leave."

   A knowing smile crossed his face as he stepped out of our way. "As you say Techy."

   I looked at him in surprise. This was the most sarcasm I'd ever heard from him. Not to mention the fact that he used the nickname they'd given me after I'd hacked the computer, which he refused to call me by unless he needed to. My surprise quickly changed to amusement. "You're starting to relax a bit. You could use a little more sarcasm."

   Steve groaned. "No. Bucky's enough."

   Buck grinned broadly. "Come now! I'm not that bad!"

   I left them to their arguing and pushed my way over to the door. Barry, Cisco and Caitlin were right behind me. When we got outside Eddie was standing next to his car. He waved us over. "Hey! You four need a ride?"

   Cisco and Caitlin shook their heads. Cisco looked at me and tapped his ear. I frowned, wanting to ask him what he meant.

   "No thanks," Barry said calmly. "We appreciate the offer though."

   Eddie looked slightly disappointed. "Alright then. See you two there."

   He got in his car and drove off down the road.

   Cisco cleared his throat. "Joe doesn't want you two. He wants Spark and Flash."

   I felt a grin spread across my face. "Bonus!"

   Barry shot away, the breeze ruffling my hair. As I started to follow him the door to Jitters opened and Steve, Bucky, and Natasha walked out. I groaned inwardly. I'd never hear the end of this.

   When I reached S.T.A.R. Labs my phone started ringing. I took it out. The blue display read Guess Who. I sighed, realizing I hadn't changed the name since it had been added. I answered it. "Hello Buck. What do you want now? I'm in something of a hurry just now."

   "Spark or Flash?"

   I sighed again. "Spark. Why?"

   "I have my reasons. Bye."

   I glared at the screen and shook my head. I wished Bucky would give me straight answers once in a while. I turned it off and changed into my black friction-proof suit. I turned on the earpiece. "Hello Cisco. Is this working?"

   There was a moment of silence before I got a response. "Yes. It's working. I'm on my way to S.T.A.R. now so I can see a computer."

   "Righto. Where am I going?"

   "Honestly Skye! You're going to meet Joe. Ask Barry."

   I pushed a different button. "Hey Baaaarrrryyyyy?"

   "What do you want Skyyyyyyyeeeee?" Barry asked over the sound of rushing wind.

   "Where am I going?" I started out of the Cortex at full speed.

   "I don't know where you're going. But I'm going to the station. That seems the most likely place to find out where Joe went."

   "So we march in and say. Hello everyone could you tell us where Joe went? They'd probably shoot us."

   "That's why we do it quietly. Meet you there and I'll explain."
