I've seen this in several AUs, they have the characters meet (I'm going to use the high school AU as an example) and suddenly "Cinder looked into his warm brown eyes, party hidden by his messy black hair, and knew he was the one, then Levana ran over and threw herself on to him", (before you ask, yes, that was in a fanfiction)
People always have Cinder fall in love with Kai immediately. IT DOESN'T WORK LIKE THAT. CINDER DIDN'T LOVE KAI AS SOON AS SHE SAW HIM, IT TOOK TIME AND A BUNCH OF CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT BEFORE SHE EVEN ADMITTED TO HERSELF THAT SHE LIKED HIM!
*flips table and walks out*
