The Apocalypse

The Dinner

"DINNER" The others called. I looked in the mirror at my brand new attire - I liked it. I noticed my cheeks were red and stained with tears and my long light brown hair was an absolute mess, it was so knotty.
"Hey" Caleb stood in the doorway.
"Oh...hi"I gazed down at my shiny boots and fiddled with my dainty fingers.
"Erm dinners ready" I could feel his eyes staring at me.
"I'll be there in a minute" I still refused to look up. Caleb sighed heavily and took a huge gulp.
"I...erm...I found this and thought you might like it" His reflection appeared behind me in the mirror, holding a silver chain.
"...May I ?" He asked and I silently nodded. As soon as the cold metal touched my neck I shivered. Looking closer at the thin chain I realised it had a heart shaped pendant covered with studded diamonds at the end. I pulled my hair out from under the necklace.
"Its...it's beautiful...thank you" I was speechless. I slowly turned around, his face so close to mine. I continued to gaze down at the grey carpeted flooring until he tilted my chin softly upwards to face him. My heart immediately began to pound violently, it felt as though it was rising into my throat.
"Guys-" Leon barged in. "Oh ...I'm so sorry"
"That's okay Leon we were just about to come to dinner" I said, scurrying away from beside Caleb and exiting the room.
As we reached the diner one of the dark oak tables was lit up with four plates full of gorgeous looking food.
"Home made rice and chicken" Xia smirked proudly.
I sat down and tucked into Xias well cooked food.
"Delicious" I complimented while stuffing my face with more. Caleb decided to sit in the seat directly opposite to me.
"If you don't mind me asking" Leon interrupted the silence."whats going on with you two exactly?" He looked from Caleb to me and couldn't help but smirk a little.
"Nothing" I quickly responded.
"It's complicated" Caleb replied at the same time, making Xia let out a slight giggle. We all continued to much onto the fresh meal.
*CRASH*
"What the-"
*BANG* Loud ringing noises could be heard as if they were in the building.
"HIDE HIDE" Xia shouted whilst jumping from her chair.
I darted and hid into the nearby kitchen, along with Caleb.
I could hear heavy footsteps treading around, getting closer and closer...
