Caden

For the first few seconds after narrating everything to Mia, she blankly stared at me. I couldn't quite make out what was going on in her mind. Suddenly, she stood to her feet.

"Let me get this straight, your marriage with Blayze is fake."

"Yes. Legal but based on lies."

"But now, you've grown to love him?"

I sighed. "Yes, and I don't know what to do because feelings weren't supposed to be involved. You know I'm bad at hiding my feelings for a long time."

She rushed back to me, taking my hands in her and a smile on her face. "So, tell him. Maybe he feels the same way."

I shook my head right away. "No way. Trust me, he definitely doesn't feel anything for me and why aren't you upset with me? I lied and hid the truth from you." I couldn't help but question as her composure baffled me.

"I don't know. I'm surprised that I'm actually not so upset with you. Maybe because I know of the frustrating situation you're in. Anyways, you've got to tell him the truth. How long do you think you can hide your feelings?"

I shrugged my shoulders.

"I don't know and besides, I'm a bit upset with myself. I don't believe it's normal to fall for your captor."

"Is that really what you see Blayze as?"

I was silent. Deep down, I'd labelled him as such and yet, he somehow managed to win my heart.

"I don't believe you truly see him that way. If you did, you wouldn't have fallen for him. At some points, you must have seen the good, the human in him and somehow, he crawled into your heart. You're saying different things about him now just to convince yourself that you're in the wrong, to feel better but Caden... what if this is a blessing in disguise? What if a future together with him is actually possible?" Mia emphasised, wide eyed and I could see just how much she was enjoying this.

I shook my head at her.

"My life's not a soap opera." I stated as I walked away.

"At least think about it." Mia dragged as she followed behind me.

That evening, I got into the car and before I could turn on the engine, my phone rang. I took it out of my handbag. One look at the caller ID and I knew who it was. Subconsciously, I prepped myself for what could come next.

"Hello."

"I'm going to send a text. Make sure to show up at the address right away."

The call was disconnected.

A scoff left my lips at his unbelievable arrogancy. Fine, one more reason for me to wonder why I have a special feeling for him. He just keeps making denying my feelings much easier for me to do.

There was an alert and I took a look at my phone. Blayze had sent the address like he said he would. For a moment, I debated on whether to go obediently or to just ignore his words. In the end, I turned on the engine and drove away.

I walked into the dress shop and the fancy gowns on display was the first to catch my attention. I couldn't help but wonder why he would call me over to a dress shop. The shop was wide and eye catching but there was no sight of anyone. Neither customers nor staff. Perhaps, I was lost. I turned away to leave.

"Mrs Norman?" The voice from behind called and I had to turn. A young lady with a warm smile walked up to me. She was dressed prim and proper and I couldn't help taking a look at the tag she had on.
