Chapter Twenty Two

Jade's POV
One week later

"Selina I'm bored!" I moan walking into her room and she sighs rolling over.

"It's 10am and I'm trying to sleep, either go out and do something or shut up." She groans into her pillow.

"But robbing banks isn't fun without you..." I say dramatically and flop onto her bed scaring away a few random cats lying near her and I giggle.

"This isn't funny Jade." She says now lying on her side and I smile.

"Well it's a little funny." I shrug standing up and start looking at 'her' jewellery. 95% of it was stolen from designer stores all over the country going as far as Jump City.

"Go annoy someone else, please!" She begs for her sleep and I sigh smiling at her.

"Fine I'll leave but who else is there to go to, everyone else is aslee-"

"Cobblepot is at the iceberg lounge!" She yells tired and annoyed and I nod smiling.

"Ok then, sweet dreams I guess..." I say leaving her apartment via the window. People will know I'm the Joker but I rule the streets around this part of town so it's ok. The cops won't come for me either, they know better.

Anyways today I'm wearing black ripped skinny jeans, black converse and a purple short sleeved shirt. My green hair is tied up into a high ponytail and for makeup I just have on foundation, concealer to cover most of my permanent smile and mascara. During the day my makeup is natural, I save the white facepaint, red lipstick and dark eyes for night time, the time where I have most my fun. Oh and of course I have a few weapons and gadgets on me but nobody knows that.

I walk a few blocks and before I know it I'm in the more high class last of town and walk through the park and sit on a bench by a children's park. I get weird stares from everyone but that's only because my hair is green. Then again I guess I'm the only girl in Gotham with hair this shade of green...

I take out my new phone and scroll through my contacts and click on Penguin's. I get up from the bench and start to walk around and put my shades over my eyes to block out the sun.

"Hello?" One of Penguin's men answers

"Hey it's Jade, can you send a car up, my location it Gotham Central Park." I say.

"Jade who?" He asks unsure.

"I'm in public, I don't really want to says my name..."

"No name, no car." He says and I sigh looking over at two cops eyeing me up.

"I'm the Joker, now send a car now please." I say.

"Do you have any proof you're-"

I hang up having enough of him and call up some goons on my wristwatch as I walk up to a skatepark and sit near some skaters out of sight from the police.

"Yes boss lady?" One of the goons answer.

"Yeah, hi, I'm trying to get a hold of Penguin, can't get a hold of him, Catwoman kicked me out so I sort of need to go somewhere..." I trail off.

"What's wrong with the park boss lady-"

"Well for starters there are cops at the otherside and the only place I can go is the skatepark which is full of guys who are staring at me." I say looking down at some skaters who look away once eye contact is made.

"Ok boss lady, we'll call Penguin and send a car, give us an hour." They say before hanging up and I sit on the bench beside some ramps with my legs crosses going across the bench in a sort of lying down position but I'm sitting if that makes sense.

I take out my phone and put my earphones in and listen to Melanie Martinez 'Mad Hatter' on repeat until a fancy black car drives into the park and up to the skatepark. Some of Penguin's men get out armed with guns and I go up to them and get in the backseat as the car starts and is driven to Penguin's club called The Iceberg Lounge.

I walk into the club and go to the tables at the front where the powerful people sit and see The Riddler lying across a chair out cold and smile at him. Out of all the villains Ed is the most likely to be caught, one because he doesn't have anywhere to live and two, he  always falls asleep in places like this, at least this club is owned by Penguin. All villains can stay here without being busted since the GCPD know that us big villains will escape before they even get near here and if they do get in, nobody is making it out alive. I alone have the skill to potentially take out both Batman and as you seen last week, Robin too.

A gunhshot goes off in the kitchen making some people look at with double doors leading to the kitchen confused or suprised but I just smile to myself. Penguin walks out and up to me, "Joker?" He asks sitting down and I smile, "how are you lately? Ivy said you weren't feeling to great last week and that you couldn't come to my 40th." He asks and I nod.

"Please, Jade." I smile then sigh, "I'm sorry I missed it, I was having a dark day" I apologise, "I told Ivy to leave me and go to the party but she wasn't moving then she sort of.." I trail off and hear a smirk from under the table.

"She drugged you so you'd let her stay then you woke up early and while still drugged, found yourself wandering the streets. Luckily Selina found you in an alley, literally everyone was out looking for you, we know." Ed says in a tired tone sitting up then yawns, "Oswald, next time you shoot the new guy in the kitchen, make sure I'm not sleeping please." Ed says clearly too tired to function properly and Oswald rolls his eyes and mutters to himself before looking at me with a smile

"So would you like anything to eat? It's on the house since you look like you could use some grub..." Oswald says looking at me. Ed looks at me with concern. Everyone knows that since Joker left me with his title I've lost weight, barley slept and spent most my time sitting in the dark trying to keep the voices in my head from turning me completely insane, "Jade dear, are you ok?" He asks snapping me out my thoughts and I fake smile and nod sitting across from Ed.

"Yeah I'm fine, can I have..." I trail off looking at the lunch menu, it's around 2pm I think. The lunch menu and menu in general is all seafood related food. Another thing about the menu, all the drinks are alcoholic... "How about you just surprise me?" I offer not able to think straight.

"Ok, I'll have your lunch here in 5 minutes." He says before going back to the kitchen leaving me with Ed who lies back down and passes out within a few seconds.
