 CHAPTER 6

After the try outs, Hermione and I walked to the Great Hall and began to eat lunch.

"I thought I wasn't going to save it!" Ron said in awe.

"We all thought you weren't going to make it," I snorted. Hermione nudged me in the ribs and I winced.

"Okay, okay! Geez," I snapped. Hermione smiled with accomplishment.

I spotted, Lavender eyeing Ron with a small blush and smile. I grasped on my fork, ready to chuck it at her.

"Are you okay, Sky?" Hermione asks, making me snap out of my thoughts. I slowly look over at her with a hint of anger wrapped around my face.

"Peachy." Hermione's lips went into a straight line and she passively looked away. Her eyes wandering elsewhere. Though, Ron's were stuck on me.

"You alrigh' there mate? You seemed tensed," he asks with concern. I slowly relax and began to regain myself.

"I'm-I'm fine. Everything is fine," I hissed quietly.

We left the Great Hall with chattering and slow and fast strides. Hermione and I had to go to potions with, Ron and Harry. Walking towards the dull dungeons, we stumbled over obnoxious, Malfoy. His bleach-white hair stuck to his scalp. A smirk always quivering on his face.

"Oh, hello, Bleach Boy. So happy to see you today," I snarled. I scrunched my face as if, Malfoy was some kind of horrendous odor.

"Watch it, Laken. We don't want another incident, to happen again. Do we?" he said. I clenched my fists and soon began to slide my hand down to my wand. Though a rough grasp stopped me. It was, Ron. His eyes weren't looking at me, but to Malfoy. Somehow, he knew I was going for my wand. And it made me question myself on how he knew my moves so well.

"Watch it, Malfoy. She can hurt you in an instant, so I won't be snapping at her," Ron says through his teeth.

"Oh really? Why don't you tell that mud-"

"Enter!" We gave each other glares and slowly entered the dark classroom. The room covered up any light that was from the outside world. As if the sun was eaten by darkness. Candles light the dull, but spacious room. Then, there were portraits of people getting attacked. It was the unforgivable curses. One was Crucio, the other Avada Kadavra. Though, there were more. A lot more. It made me create a slight, amused smile, but then I shook it off and looked over to my friends. Ron gestured me over to him, Harry, and Hermione.

"Sorry, this place is very...interesting." I let another yet, small smile slip. Ron gave me a curious look, as if wondering what was going through my mine. He was about to tell me something, but he was interrupted by Professor Snape.

"Hello class. Today, as you all know, are going to learn some new, techniques, of Defence Against the Dark Arts. And I shall presume, for you being the, irresponsible and obnoxious students you are, will probably be wondering what, are we going to learn." He walked around the room and many kids had to snap their heads around to follow his movement around the classroom. His lecture on how the Dark Arts is like a three headed dog or whatever, and how the heads grew back. Personally, even though he is my friend, I had no intention of paying attention. Until the last bit of the lecture that seemed to catch the essence of the whole theme of, Defence Against the Dark Arts.

"Now, we shall do non-verbal spells. I shall epext each of you to, partner up, with a equally skilled wizard or witch...unless you're Neville." Some people chuckled for the first time but soon he glared at us and we went silent.

"Begin!" I partnered up with my best friend, Hermione and we soon found a space where we could battle. Ron and Harry partnered up and we both chuckle.

"Ron couldn't battle, even if his life depended on it," I jokingly say. Hermione laughs.

"Of course not! But we must keep faith. He might be able to do it," Hermione says while looking at Ron. Ron smiles back and then she looked back at me. A smirk appears on her face and also mine. She point her wand at me and I do the same, aiming it at her chest. Suddenly a bold of a fiery red shot out of her wand and it swirled around in mid air and chased towards me. With that, I pop my wand out but somehow, it flies out of my hand and lands on the floor. Far away from me. I look up and the flame was getting closer. I needed to think fast! It was getting closer and closer. Oh dear God! Please help! But then, I found out what to do. I braced myself very quickly. I focused on the non-verbal spelled and then...Boom! A light shade of fading blue suddenly appeared, and pushed the spell back; then it disintegrated. I used my mind to force the spell back and rebound on Hermione. I felt myself slide back. As for Hermione, she was flung against the wall. I smiled with achievement but then rushed over to Hermione.

"You okay," I asked. She groans and holds her head and nods. Slowly getting up, Hermione stumbled because of the impact, but then regained her ground. Snape walked over.

"What is the meaning of this?" he asked lazily. I look over.

"I forced the spell away from me with my mind. Like a shield. And then it kinda, well, rebound it on Hermione." Snape's eyebrows went up with shock. As if impressed.

"Well done Sky. Five points to Gryffindor," Snape said in a bored voice. I smile and he shot me a quick, but small smile back. I looked at Hermione and she seemed to be okay. She smiles and I take her by the arm as Snape dismissed us.

Walking, I soon realized that my wand was on the ground. I walk over, but Malfoy trips me.

"Hey! Watch it!" I yell. He snarls.

"Where's your wand at, Sky? Still looking?" He soon teases me with my wand in my face. I snatch it out of his hand.

"I told you to watch it! I swear I'll-"

"-Sky! What did he do?" Ron asks, pushing the Slytherins out of his way. Sneers came from the Slytherins mouths, almost like a hiss from a snake.

"He just, tripped me," I say, while trying to regain my momentum.

"Come on Malfoy! Give it up! You're scared of her," snickered Ron. Draco stepped forward and soon he swung his fist at Ron. Though Ron ducked and tackled him to the ground. Hermione yelled at Ron but he didn't listen. Ron punched Draco in the ribs until they were visible. Snape soon runs in and throws Ron on the other side of the room. Who knew he was so strong.

"What are you two doing! This is unacceptable!" exclaimed Snape. Ron got up and glared at Draco with full-on hatred. It laces around is pale face and rosy cheeks.

"I think, it's time, for Mr.Malfoy and...Weasly, to be punished. Molfoy and Weasly will serve detention, tomorrow, at eight o' clock. Five points will be executed from Gryffindor as following." Ron huffed and soon walked out. Draco did the same as he whipped around and walked up the dull, stony, stairs. I follow them also.
