Riley's POV

'I want to take it slow though.' She said. 'I understand, what if i take you on a date this Friday?' I asked. 'That sounds great.' She came closer to me and laid her head om my chest. 'I could get used to this.' She whispered. 'Me too.' I carefully grabbed my cup of tea and took a sip. 'How is your dad?' She asked soflty. 'He's good we have a really good relationship.' She looked up at me and smiled. 'I'm glad you still have him.' She said. 'Yeah...most of the times it's the dad who runs off but he stayed and raised me and my sister on his own.' I explained. 'And what about your sister?' She asked. 'She is older than me and she is at college right now.' I said and wrapped my arm around Ruby. 'It has made us so much stronger.' I whispered. 'When does your dad come home?' She said while looking up at me. 'Probably around 7 pm.' I answered.

I carefully took off my beanie that she was wearing and placed a kiss on her head. 'You should be careful because i might steal that beanie from you.' She said joking. 'You can have it if you want to.' I said. Her eyes got big and she looked at me. 'You don't have to do that, i mean i like to wear it but you don't have give it to me.' She replied. 'I would love to give it to you.' I said. 'Or we could share it.' She suggested. 'That's sounds good to me.' I said with a smile.

'How are you going to get home by the way?' I asked. 'I'll walk.' She replied. 'On your own.' I raised my eyebrows. 'No, with my imaginary friends.' She said teasingly. 'Of course on my own.' She said. 'Would you mind company?' She lifted her head from my chest. 'You want to come? Have you even seen the weather?' She asked. 'Yes, i have.' She laid her head down again. 'Okay.' It was quiet for 15 minutes after she said that i carefully tried to look at her she fell asleep she looked like a sleeping princess. Unfortunatly i had to wake her up not that much later because we had to leave. 'Ruby?' I said quietly i carefully put my hand on her arm. 'Hmm.' She mumbled. 'Wake up sweetheart it's time to go.' I said. She carefully lifted herself up and rubbed the sleep out of her eyes. 'Did i sleep long.' She asked still sleepy. 'A good 20 minutes.' I replied. She was now sitting next to me.

'So put on your jacket.' I said and i got up to grab an umbrella. She also got up and put her jacket on. I gave her my beanie again. 'Thanks.' She said with a smile and she put it on. 'Are you ready?' I asked looking over at her she nodded in response. I opended the door and the umbrella as soon as i was outside Ruby closed the door and followed my actions and she held my hand. I looked down at our intertwined fingers and a big smile appeared on my face. Ruby was looking at me and she smiled back and kissed my cheek. We started walking through the rain.

Ruby's POV

The umbrella was protecting us of the pouring rain all of the autum leaves that had fallen were soaked only we were staying dry. I felt so comfortable around him a  smile was still lingering on his face which made me happy too. Going for a walk became kind of our thing. I suddenly stopped he looked at me with a confused face i leaned in to kiss him. When i pulled away he just kept staring at me. 'What's wrong?' I asked almost getting worried. 'Just, that feeling i get when you kiss me.' He said with a grin i couldn't help but smile like an idiot. 'What's it like?' I asked and i looked down at out hands that were still intertwined. 'It's like the world doesn't matter any more just us two and nothing can hurt us and all i feel are sparks.' He explained. 'I feel that too.' I replied smiling.

Not much later we were behaving like to little kids kicking and splashing in the puddles i didn't care. It's good to not care about how old you are sometimes because you just can let go that's definedly something that Riley thaught me right now. He has been right all this time i am healed and i shouldn't be so scared.

'Do you see that big puddle over there?' He asked and he grinned like he was 8 years old again. 'Yeah.' I replied. 'Let's run through it.' He said. 'You are such and idiot.' I said joking. 'Don't be so uptight.' He answered. Uptight me? I started running and i ran through the big puddle as fast as i could. I turned around to see his face his jaw just dropped which made me laugh. 'Why aren't you here yet?' I asked teasingly. He started running towards me and also through the puddle. He kept running untill he was standing right infront of me like the first time when he walked out of the kitchen door and he was right in my face i smiled at the thought of it. 'I'm here now.' He whispered. 'That's the only thing that matters.' I said quietly.

When we arrived at my house i gave him a tight hug and kissed him one last time. 'I'll see you tomorrow.' I said. 'we could walk to school together?' He suggested. 'Sure.' I replied. 'Well, i think i'll go now.' He said. 'Goodnight.' I said with a faint smile. 'Goodnight babe.' He said he slowly turned around and started walking away as i closed the door. 'Ruby is that you?' I heared my mom ask. 'Yes it's me mom.' I replied and i walked over to the living room. 'How was Riley doing?' She asked. 'He's doing good he's a great guy.' I answered. 'You like him don't you?' She just knew me too well. 'Maybe.' It's always akward if your mom knows that you have a crush. 'You do i can tell.' Damn busted. 'When are we going to see him?' She asked a little excited. 'Soon i promise.' I replied.

'But something else now.' She said more seriously. 'What is it?' I replied. 'Your chestpain.' She started. 'Yeah.' I said hesitatly. 'I called the hospital.' Oh god no i thought. 'They are going to do a check up just to make sure everything is okay.' My eyes got big and the fear crept in. 'Mom please no.' Is the only thing i could bring out. 'The said there is only a very small chance Ruby.' She said trying to comfort me but i was still panicking. 'How small?' I asked. 'One out of ten.' She replied. I nodded that was a small chance nothing to worry about right? But the truth was that i was terrified.
