Damon's POV:
I ran out to the party where the guests were laughing, dancing, and drinking. I walked around smelling all the different scents around me. I finally found Patrick and Justine's distinct ones. I ran in the direction of the forest. There were so many colors whirling around me. The green's, light blues, and the pinks from the sunset were all a blur around me. My hair was whipping all around my face. I stopped at the edge of the forest. Smelling, searching for a path that leads to Patrick and Justine. I stood for a good three minutes breathing in the warm moist air until I finally picked up Justine. She smelled like the ocean and berries. I ran, ran faster than I ever have in my entire life. I stopped dead in my tracks about one hundred feet away from where Justine was. I looked around for a place to hide. I found a tall tree and I climbed up so that I would still be able to hear them, but just not be seen by them.
"Justine, I need to talk to you about something?"
"What Patrick? You asked me to come out here. I came, and in my dress."
"I know, and I am so grateful you actually listened to me and came."
"Okay, you're welcome. What do you want to talk about?" I could hear the tone in her voice was sort of agitated. It was like she really didn't want to be out here with Patrick, but with someone else, someone like Stefan. Her new husband that was going to take some getting used to.
"I love you."
"I love you, too. You couldn't have told me that over there?" Her tone more aggravated than before.
"I don't think you get it. I love you, Justine. I love you. I want to be the one you marry." Justine let out a loud gasp, and then a sigh.
"I am married now, Patrick." She said placing her hands on his shoulders. "I cannot be with you now."
"Now? So you are saying I had a chance?" Sounding hopeful, knowing that he placed a curse on Stefan.
"You would have if you wanted to be with me before I met Stefan." His face dropped. I let out a soft chuckle and quickly stopping realizing I was spying on vampires with super sensitive hearing.
"Did you hear that?" Patrick asked curiously, and Justine let out a sigh.
"I was hoping you would realize it. Damon, get your ass down here now. I knew you were up there!" She said demandingly, I forgot she could read minds. Damn.
"So, you cursed Stefan?" I asked Patrick, earning a look from Justine and surprisingly one from Patrick.
"What are you talking about?" Patrick asked me with the most serious expression.
"Seriously, Damon, what are you talking about?" Justine asked me with almost the same expression.
"Stefan, he was cursed; if Melissa and I wouldn't have found him when we did he would have died. He needed blood it was like the curse drained every once out of his body and we thought it was Patrick. We also thought-"Justine held her finger up to me to make me stop talking.
"You two thought Patrick cursed me too." I simply nodded my head while Patrick stood confused still.
"Someone please! Tell me what the fuck is going on here!" Patrick yelled out to Justine and I.
"Someone cursed Stefan." Justine stated blandly.
"Well I think I got that much from this conversation?" Patrick said sarcastically. Justine turned to Patrick and walked over to him slowly. She lifted her hand slowly to his neck and started to tighten her grip. I watched as Patrick's eyes began to bulge, and that is when I decided to step in and stop Justine.
