Like Father, Like Son

On my way home I could feel the spell fading away. I could feel it slowly lifting off of my body, my mind and my heart. And what scared me the most was that I didn't feel any different. I could still feel tingles running through my cheeks where she cupped my face with her hands, I could feel her lips against mine when we said our goodbyes. And that frightened me.

Why didn't I feel different?

I still had hatred for her and her father for what they've done to our pack and my family, but I couldn't get over the way she was making me feel. It's like I was disgusted and intrigued by this woman.

I can't explain it.

I walked into my house and saw my mother reading a book in our living room.

"Lion, hey my boy." My mother sniffed the air and looked up with her pearly whites. She began to rise up to her feet and I stopped her.

"No mom it's okay, don't get up" I walked over to her, bent down and gave her a big hug. I sat next to her in our black leather Italian chair. Our living room was a warm maroon color on the walls, a large book shelf on the left side of the room, a bar on the right side of the room with all different selections of your favorite alcohol and in the middle was our fireplace where we sat on top of a bear rug that my mother killed with her bare hands...yeah, she was bad ass.

"How was your day son? You're getting in pretty late" it was around 3:30am once I got home, you may think it's strange that my mom is up reading a book at three in the morning while sipping on Jack Daniels, but that's how our family always been. We're pretty much night owls.

"Just hanging out with a friend." I don't know why but a little curve on the corner of my mouth creeped on my face. Just thinking of her made me smile but I quickly shook it off.

"Mmmhhhh I've never heard a twinkle in your voice while mentioning someone...so, tell ya mom! Who is she? Is she your mate!" My mom squirmed with happiness.

"No mom, just a friend that I've been talking to. Nothing serious." My mom didn't know what was going on between my dad and I, and I was going to keep it that way. She would shut the whole thing down in a heart beat.

"Oh honey please. I can smell her on you and she smells...different. Not like that hoochie Chanel you bring over here." She rolled her eyes. My mom couldn't stand CHELSEA, she says everything about her is slut on her forehead.

"CHELSEA is not a hoochie mom" I laughed at her choice of words describing her.

"Son I'm telling you that girl is no good. Listen to your mother, we always know best. Understand?" She raised her right eyebrow at me.

"Yes mom, I understand" there was no point in arguing with her. She had a clear cut vision on how she felt about Chelsea. And I wasn't going to stop her. Chelsea and I have been dating for about six months. It was nothing too serious, a kiss here, fool around there. But we've never had sex. I've never had sex with anyone actually. My mother has always raised me to save myself for my mate. That's why I couldn't tell her about our plan, she would be devastated and heart broken if she knew I was giving myself away all for some devious scheme.

But I couldn't help but think that my mom may be right about Chelsea. She was always trying to get me in bed but I've always turned her down...maybe she is a fucking slut.

"Has Leona found a cure for your eyes?" I asked leaning a little closer to my mom looking at her icy gray eyes.

"No son...Not yet" she huffed and looked down. My mother was blind in both her eyes. She's been blind since before I was even born. One of the reasons to why we're planning against Violet and her dad is because of what happened to my mom. I don't know exactly what happened to cost her her vision, my mother won't allow him or anyone to tell me. But whatever it was It happened because of Violet's pack and her father.
