The Last Kobayashi (a naruto fanfic)

Ten

We were all on some useless mission about catching some cat that ran away. While everyone else chased after it I lounged in some bushes. As I was laying there though, I felt a soft weight land on my stomach, looking down I noticed it was the cat they were all scrambling to catch.

Suddenly a very heavy weight landed on me and the cats screeching could be heard.

"I got him! I got him!" yelled naruto who was sitting on my stomach, effectively halting my breathing. I pushed him off as the cat screeched and clawed at him and sakura fawned over the cat.

"Affirmative we've got a positive ID" Suki-chan said into his headset as I hissed at naruto for knocking the wind out of me and Nii-chan pointed and laughed.

"Can't we get a better mission than this?! I hate cats!!" Naruto yelled, causing everyone to groan and hold their heads, considering he yelled into the headset. I just stared down. Does that mean he doesn't like me?

"I didn't mean it like that!" Naruto yelled toward me, leaving the cat with sakura and glomping me.

"Whatever, let's just go..." I mumbled and teleported to the hokage's office. While I was there the hokage gave me and Nii-chan a mission.

Soon after everyone showed up and tora the cat was given to his owner. After some discussion the hokage was about to give the team their next mission when i politely stopped him.

"Please excuse us, we must get going now. " I pardoned, grabbing nii-chans arm and going to pull him out.

"Wait, where are you guys going?" Kakashi-sensei asked suspiciously, "we are just about to get our next mission."

"Ya, where are you taking me?" Nii-chan asked, I could practically see the question mark above his head.

"Kakashi, they already have a prior mission assigned by me." The hokage said before dismissing us. I didn't miss the glare sent my way by kakashi-sensei before i left.

"So, what are we doing?" Nii-chan asked as we walked out of the Hokage tower.

"We are being sent on a recon mission. Pack lightly, we leave in an hour." Was all i said as i poofed off to sasuke's house. I changed out of sasuke's comfy clothing into my new ninja outfit, grabbed my old akatsuki cloak and weapons. Then, filled a small backpack with some food and other things we will need on the trip.

I also brought my leaf headband in the bag, in case i needed it, but otherwise tied my village headband on my waist.

After packing I casually took my time walking over to the village gates, noticing suki-chan there already. Looks like whatever their mission was, they were leaving the village. He must of got packed and stuff after I left, I did wonder around quite a bit before this.

"Hey." I said, waving lightly.

"Hey, what are you doing here?" He questioned, a small smile present on his face.

"Mission, you?"

"Same. What's your mission?" He asked. I looked down, chewing my bottom lip.

"Unfortunately I can't say." I answered with a sigh, going up and hugging him as nii-chan walked up. "We gotta go, I'll see you later, ya?"

He replied with a curt nod, fading back into his emotionless facade.

I hated that, but I had to hurry with the mission before I lost my chance.

"Later Uchiha." Nii-chan waved casually before waltzing out of the village gates as sakura and naruto came.

"Hurry up." I stated, all fun and games gone from my voice, this was serious. I started running along the trees, off of the main path. Nii-chan seemed to be having trouble keeping up, even though i was going slow so he could.

Since we reached the gates, I felt someone following us and I didn't want team 7 getting hurt by them.

'Who is following us?' I thought, biting my lip hard.
