Laxus' POV
"Guys, get off! I need sleep!"
We were all squeezed on to Mira's bed, every once in a while excitedly feeling the baby kick. When she said this, I hopped off the bed quickly, knowing how Mira was when she was angry.
"Aww, please, just five more minutes?" Freed whined with a small frown, but I pulled him off before Mira could do any serious damage. We rushed out of her room, and within a few minutes we could hear her snores.
"Freed, you know what?" I whispered to my husband out in the hallway.
"What?" He replied, grinning.
"Well, I was just wondering... you know," I didn't know what to say. "Don't you think we should start thinking of names?"
Freed smiled. "Yeah, sure! The pregnancy is about..." he thought for a bit, "halfway?"
I laughed a bit, "you've been counting?"
"Of course," he replied. He looked to his socks. "I can't wait to see the baby. I mean, feeling her kick is great, but--"
"Her?" I interrupted. "What do you mean?"
Freed smirked. "Oh, yeah. Well, do you remember a few months ago during the procedure when I asked you if you wanted a boy or girl? Well I really want a girl." He grinned, then stepped into the kitchen to grab a pencil and paper. "So, baby names?"

I groaned. "This is harder than I thought." There were crumpled pieces of paper all over the floor. "I give up."I looked across the table at Freed, and he was fast asleep. "I can't believe you." I muttered. I cracked a smile and picked up my husband. I brought him down the hall and set him our bed.
When I was making my way back down the hall, I saw the extra door, the nursery. I pushed the door open, and saw that it was empty and white. I frowned.
Then I got an idea.
I ran to the phone and called Evergreen. "Hey, Ever. Can you call my grandfather for me? I've got something to invite the guild to."

Freed's POVI opened my eyes. How did I get in my bed?
I sat up and stretched, then stood up. I was about to open the door when I heard voices out in the living room. My first thought was intruders! so I grabbed my rapier. I slowly opened the door, readying my rapier to hit whoever was there straight on the head. I opened it all the way and saw two people in front of me, and I swung without thinking.
"Oww, what the heck Freed?"
"A real man wouldn't hit a woman!"
And I realised they weren't intruders. "I'm so sorry." I said, holding up my hands in apology. "But Evergreen, Elfman, what are you doing here? And why are you in the hallway?" I asked, skeptical.
Both of their faces went red. "Well, w-we thought you knew, but Laxus is throwing a baby shower here." Evergreen explained.
I narrowed my eyes. It didn't explain why they were out in the hall, but I went with it and stepped into the living room, leaving Ever and Elfman by themselves.
Everyone from the guild was there. In our house.
"Uhh..." I muttered, looking around for my husband. I spotted him talking to Cana. "Hey Laxus," I said, tapping his shoulder.
"Oh, Freed, you're awake!" Laxus said.
I rolled my eyes. "Can we go talk. In private." I grumbled.
"Yeah, I guess." He replied, and I pulled him back into the hall (where Evergreen and Elfman no longer were) and into our room. "What's the big deal?" Laxus yelled.
"Why are there so many people in our house?"
Laxus' face softened. "Oh, that. Well..." he grabbed my hand and took me down the hall. "Look," he opened the door to the nursery and pulled me in.
"Wow," I gasped. Everyone in the guild had gotten us a present. There was baby stuff everywhere, strollers, pictures, books.
"That one's from me," he whispered, as if the baby was already in the room and he didn't want to wake her up. He pointed to the crib.
Seeing all this stuff that my friends had gotten me made me a little misty-eyed. I wiped a few tears from my cheeks and hugged him. "Thanks." I muttered into his shirt. "I can put up with all the people for this."
Laxus laughed. "Let's go back out there."
I kept hugging him. "Okay," I whispered.
He fluffed up my hair. "Come on," he chuckled, and I finally let go.
We talked to people for a bit, played 'guess the sex' and other games, but they were pretty boring. The most exciting part was probably when Gray accidentally put his arm around Lyon and started a rumour that they were dating.
The whole time, though, I just hoped everyone would go home. But, I'll admit it was pretty fun playing with Nashi, Erza's new baby, and the other kids, Wendy, Romeo and Chelia. Well, they weren't really kids anymore. But I still called them kids, despite them telling me otherwise multiple times.
Seeing how much they had grown made me feel kind of old. Everyone was married and had families. It made me think back to when we were just dumb kids. It made me a little sad, thinking about how we weren't as young and dumb.
But then I thought about teaching our kid magic. How her eyes would light up when she saw what magic could do. And how she would make friends with the others, and go on quests.
I grinned thinking about it, and again the anticipation killed me.
Then I heard Laxus walk up behind me. "Hey Freed," he said, "what magic are we gonna teach our kid?"
That's something I hadn't thought of.
