Laxus' POV
I groaned at Mira's enthusiasm. But, in reality, I was really excited for Christmas. Probably just my inner child coming through."Baby's first Christmas!" Freed cheered, and Mira grinned.
"Yeah, I guess so," she replied.
Trying to avoid the overload of cheesiness coming from those two, I looked around the room. I saw Evergreen grab Elfman's arm, pulling him closer, and saw her eyes gleam with love. No wonder Mira ships them, I thought and shook my head, laughing mentally at myself.
I looked back over at Freed who was now talking to Mira's stomach, "daddy's excited to meet you."
Freed pulled me closer, and I gasped at the sudden movement. I frowned at him, trying to get away but he scowled jokingly, and said, "go ahead, say hello."
"Freed, this is weird." I looked at him like he was crazy.
Mira was my friend, but this was just plain strange. "It's fine," she smiled, and I frowned.
"Fine," I groaned. My face turned red as I knelt closer to Mira's stomach. "Hi," I mumbled. Freed laughed at me and I sat back up, crossing my arms and scowling. I laughed at the way Freed made fun of me and suppressed a smile.
"Time for presents!" Mira said, already starting to pass out our gifts. I yawned as we all went around opening presents. The guys got their girlfriends presents, and all three of us got baby clothes and stuff. I told Freed to open my present last. When he handed me his present, it was wrapped so neatly I didn't want to ruin it, but I had to because I am a bit impatient.
Inside was scrawled writing and a small scrap of paper. I was confused at first, then realised the writing was rune magic. I looked at Freed for an explanation, and he said, "I wanted to learn this for you," he grabbed his rapier from the corner of the room. He quickly wrote the rune, the same as on he piece of paper, and stepped back. "Don't worry, it's not dangerous." I didn't understand why he said that until I saw the colorful bolts of lightning shoot from the center of the writing. "Took me a few weeks to master, and it still takes a bit to write, but I'm getting pretty close." Everyone gasped as the lightning turned blue then back to white, then disappeared along with the rune. Freed grinned and I got up to embrace him, he accepted the embrace. "Now I wanna see what you got me," he smirked.
"Open the box," I gestured to the small box beside him. He picked it up carefully, bringing to his ear and shaking it before smiling and tearing it open.
From a small leather case, Freed brought out a small golden key. "Is this--"
"Yeah," I nodded. "It's a house key."

"Bye!" Mira hugged her sister. "Come back anytime!"Mira sighed, bringing her hand to her face. "I'm glad they're gone." Freed and I both nodded.
"Are you ready to go see it?" I said. Freed jumped up, suddenly smiling all the excitement flooding back into his smile from before. "Yes please!"
"You too Mira," I told her.
"Really?" She perked up.
"Of course." Freed nodded with me.
"Well, okay then."

Freed's POV
We got out if the car and I was brimming with excitement. Seeing the cute little house in the small neighborhood I couldn't help but imagine myself living there with Laxus. I ran over to him, hugging him tightly. Tears of joy flowed down my face. "I can't believe you did this for me," I mumbled into his shoulder. "It better not have cost too much," I added. The embrace broke and he replied with a sarcastic, "shut up."
"Wow this is really nice!" Mira cheered as she gestured to the door. "Can we go in now?"
Laxus nodded and I unlocked the door.
It was a small, simple house, but I loved it because it was our own.
"Laxus, why are there three bedrooms?" Mira blurted out.
Laxus looked at her as if it was obvious, "you're staying with us of course. I mean, you're not going to live here, but I wanted you to be able to stay here whenever you want. We want our kid to know his mother, right?"
I froze at the the word 'his'. Though none if us knew the sex of the baby, it was weird to hear it in such familiar terms. It was all beginning to be so real.
Mira pulled us both into a group hug. "Thanks you guys. I don't deserve this, you know. But you guys have given me so much."
"Of course you deserve it. What you're doing is hard, and we love you for it," I replied. "I mean, it would be difficult for anyone, and it's the nicest thing anyone's ever done for us."
Mira released us from her surprisingly strong arms, wiping away happy tears, and ran to her room.
"I'm so excited!" She jumped onto the bed and I laughed a bit at her enthusiasm. But on the inside, I was just excited as she was to have our new house, and a child to fill it with.
I am a terrible person I haven't updated in so long...
