Chapter 11:
Days of working, finding out the same information at work, Elizabeth finally discovered a connection between her Ex boyfriend and a stripper that were killed on the same night, only a block from where the other.
Finding this information strange, she went to investigate the situation.
Driving to the stip club, she walked to the entrance, showed her badge and was immediately granted entrance.
'Strange, usually a detective wouldn't be allowed into a place like this without a struggle!' Elizabeth thought as she made her way through the entrance.
Of course the club was dark, lit by red, purple and blue lights along the dark walls. Red carpet spread throughout. Leather seats with black tables, a pole coming down from the ceiling and into the middle of the table. A bar placed right at the back of the establishment.
'Your common strip club.' She thought, making her way to a tall man at the bar, his hair was medium length, black with blue tips.
"Excuse me?" She called to him, pushing her hair behind her ear and sitting on a bar stool by the bar.
"Yeah? What would you like? The strip shows don't start till eight." He explains, not looking up from the glass he was drying with a dish cloth.
"I'm not here for a drink or a show. I'm on duty. I have a few questions to ask you. Detective Swayde." Elizabeth explains in a matter of fact tone.
The man finally looks up and nods.
"Follow me." He says sternly, hopping over the bar and walk to an office.
He sat down at a large desk and pointed to a seat in front of it.
"Please. Sit." He ordered kindly.
Elizabeth obliged and sat down slowly in the seat, crossing her legs politely.
"So, how can I help you Miss Swayde?" The man asks, his hands clasped together, resting his chin on them with his elbows on the desk, examining her closely.
"You can address me as Chris." He smiled.
Elizabeth took out her pen and note book.
"Okay. So Chris. I'm here to talk about a girl that used to work here. Angel? Angel Jones?" She asks, getting prepared to write her notes.
"Ah... Angel. My best stripper. Even though she did have a boyfriend, he was pretty supportive of her career. One of my best costumers too!" Chris states with a nod.
"Do you know the name of her boyfriend? Maybe I can go ask him a few questions too." Elizabeth said as she wrote down her notes.
"I'm afraid not Miss Swayde, her boyfriend was killed the same night." Chris explains with a sigh.
Elizabeth's heart stopped beating.
'This was a different person! It's not him! It's not my Ex! It can't be! He... He cheated on me?' She thought, staring at her paper as she wrote, she nodded, holding herself together.
"W-what was his name?" She finally asked, worried for the answer that she knew would come, those little words.
"Kane Anderson." He said, looking at her, his whole facial expression filled with concern.
"Are you okay?" He asked, his voice also filled with worry.
Elizabeth wiped her eyes slightly and looked up.
"Yes. Just, that was also my boyfriend." She said quietly.
Chris sighed and handed her a tissue from his tissue box.
"That's rough. Sorry about that." He said sadly.
Elizabeth took the tissue and wiped her eyes free of tears and her nose with a sad smile.
"Thank you. But I think that's all I need to know. Thanks for your time." She smiled, stood up and walked out as quickly as she possibly could.
Driving home she slammed the door, hung up her jacket then ran upstairs to her room, crying her eyes out as she curled up on her bed.
"Elizabeth?" Damon called, running after her and running into her room.
Seeing her cry. He ran over and pulled her into his arms.
She happily went into his arms, sobbing into his chest.
"H-he cheated! W-w-with a s-stripper!" She cried, hugging him tighter in her arms.
Damon nodded and sighed, hugging her back just as tight to reassure her.
"It's okay... I'm here for you!" He whispers, kissing her head gently as he tried to calm her down.
After a few moments, she calmed her breathing and stopped her tears. She slowly looked up at him. Her tear stained cheeks and puffy red eyes staring up at Damon.
"You okay now?" He asked quietly, his voiced croaked, filled with worry.
Elizabeth simply nodded slowly.
"Sorry about that. It's just upsetting, hearing that he cheated from another person after he'd died." She whispers.
Damon nods.
"So in a way he deserved it?" He half states half asks.
Elizabeth shrugged.
"I suppose in a way but, no one deserves to die." She explains softly.
"Though I would thank whoever did it." She said, showing her second mind.
Damon nodded and bit his lower lip.
"I doubt the killer will just come forward." He states with an eyebrow raised.
Elizabeth nodded.
"It's my job to find the killer, that's my job. But I will thank them when I find them." She smiled softly.
"Sure. That's your choice." Damon shrugs slightly.
"I'm glad I'll have you though." Elizabeth smiles brightly and kisses his cheek.
"Yeah... You'll have me." He smiled just as bright, but as soon as she turns her head away. He bites his lower lip, thinking deeply.
************************************
She's found out he was a cheat!
She has looked for comfort in Damon.
She has confessed to Damon, saying she would thank the killer! Think that has a meaning?
And he said she will have him... But for how long?
Anyway! Let me know what you think!
