* FLASHBACK *

'Kyle, no put me down please!' I shout out of breath, laughter leaving both of our mouths. But he ignores me, and just keeps walking in direction of the water, leaving me with an afraid look on my face. 'Don't throw me in the water babe!!' 'Too late.' He chuckles, and within a second I'm under water. Good thing is, I didn't put make-up on this morning, so I won't look like a clown. I find Kyle's leg, which is quite hairy, and pull him down with me. He faces me when we're both with our heads under the water, and I try not to laugh at how he looks because otherwise the water would come into my mouth.

'You're crazy dude.' I giggle. He intertwines our fingers as we walk down the long sand path and sighs. 'Crazy about you.' He says in a singing way and winks cheekily at me.

*END FLASHBACK*

'Calum?' I ask, breaking a long and peaceful silence.

'Hm?' I look up at him, but his eyes keep staring up at the sky. We've been lying on the towel he apparently brought with him in his schoolbag for a while now, listening to only the sound of the sea and the birds.

'What made you talk to me the first time we met? And when I went home mad at you, why'd you come back that night to apologize? Like, why trying so hard?' His smile grows bigger, and he takes a deep breath in.

'Remember the first time I saw you? Luke came running outside holding your hand and I just thought you were absolutely gorgeous. And about later that day; I realized how amazing you really were. You were worth all the trying, seriously. You just need to realize that yourself, I guess.' He sadly smiles, and kisses the side of my head which makes me smile as well. I am ready to open my mouth and answer, but Calum's ringtone stops me.

'Yes Hello?' I study his face, staying as quiet as I can trying to listen to the conversation. But unfortunately, I can't hear a thing of what the other person says. When Calum notices my frown, he quickly mouths 'it's Ash.' Before continuing the call.

My eyes stay closed, as I realize I'm lying on a couch and hear people talking in the room. I was sleeping?

'I did it to help her!'

'Yes but still, she's 16. You can't just let her skip school mate.'

Recognizing the voices, I hear it's Calum and Ashton, most probably talking about me. I continue to listen to their discussion, but after not even a minute more I get tired of it already and open my eyes.

'Boys shut up, she's awake.' I look up to see Vera sitting next to me, and she smiles.

'Ash, it's not Calum his fault, stop bitching.' I sigh, getting up from the couch, and approach the door to leave to my bedroom. Quickly before walking through it, I give Calum an apologizing look, and he smiles that it's okay.

I turn the page, shuffling under my blankets, and look at my phone to see what time it is. 7:06pm. I've been reading for at least 2 hours now. And still, no one has called for dinner. The open window allows a cold breeze to come into my room which makes me shiver. I get up and walk over to the window to close it, and change my tee-shirt into a hoodie immediately after that. 'where is everyone..' I mumble to myself, dragging myself towards the door. As soon as I walk into the living room, the only one I see is Vera. 

'Oh, hey Eloise.' she softly smiles, continuing to watch the TV. 

'Where are the boys?' 

'Ashton is getting us food, and Calum left. I believe he said he was going to Luke's house because he got in quite a big fight with Ash earlier and needed to clear his mind or something.' Vera shrugs. I think about earlier, knowing they were talking about me when I woke up. What if they were fighting because of me? My thoughts carry me away from the world, and a frown appears on my face. 

'It was about the party next week, don't worry. You've done nothing wrong.' Vera most probably saw my confused look, and knows what I was thinking. Sometimes it's almost scary how she knows everything about me to be honest. 

'the party next week?' I ask curiously, walking towards the couch and sitting down next to Vera, and she chuckles. 

'yes, the party to celebrate their first proper gig. Calum didn't tell you about it?' Vera finally turns off the sound of the TV and faces me.
