The next couple of days went by in a blur. Josh, Marissa, and I haven't talked in days. I could tell that it was getting to Bailey B, Brandon, Alan, and Taylor, even though they haven't said anything, at least to me. Alan and Brandon both tried to get me to talk to Josh but I needed time to cool down. About a week and a half after our fight Josh approached me after basketball practice.

"Hey," He said quietly.

"Hi." I said emotionless.

"Do you have time to talk? I can take you home." He asked me and I nodded slowly. I followed him to his car and put my stuff in the back before sliding into the passenger seat. We didn't say anything to each other for a while. I noticed he took the long way home like we used to.

I cleared my throat once I realized that I was staring at him. "So, you wanted to talk?" I asked taking a shaky voice.

He glanced at me for a moment before saying, "Yeah, I think we need to talk. What happened to us?"

"We have different lives, Josh. You want Marissa--"

"I told you that I don't like her... I like you Kiley, whether you want to believe me or not." He told me, his voice rising. I flinched.

"Josh..." I whispered.

"No! Damn it Kiley. Just listen-"

"No, you listen here Joshua Matthews. You can't do this to me! You can't lead me on and then kiss my best friend and expect everything to be fine! You can't expect me to just crawl back after the way you hurt me. That's not how this works." I yelled at him. His hands clenched around the steering wheel as I ranted. "You can't expect to have me when you kissed her." I whispered staring out the window.

He pulled up in front of the apartments when he finally spoke. "Well, then I guess you get your wish, now don't you." He told me as he sat in his car as I got my stuff out.

I stared at him for a moment. "I hope you know this isn't what I want." I said my eyes bluing with tears. Josh got out of his car and walked over to me grabbing my hands and pulling them into his.

"It doesn't have to be. Please. Let me love you. I found a reason for us. Just let this happen." He begged me putting his hand on my face. I leaned into him.

"Okay," I whispered.

"Okay?" He asked surprised I said yes.

I smiled. "Yeah,"

He grinned. "Can I call you my girlfriend?" He asked hesitantly.

"I'd like that." I whispered.

"Can I kiss you?" He asked.

"I'd thought you'd never ask." He leaned down and kissed me.
