"Okay, guys, I have a big announcement." My dad said standing up glancing at me nervously before speaking again. "Kiley and I are moving to New York."
"What?" I said loudly sitting up straight only to have Auggie fall of my lap.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"We're moving to New York City!"
"We're moving?" I shouted.
"Shawn that's amazing!" Topanga said.
"We're moving?" I shouted again.
"We're moving right next door to you guys." Dad told them.
"We're moving?" I shouted again.
"Just like old times!" Cory yelled.
"WE'RE MOVING?" I shouted louder making everyone look at me.
"Sweetheart, did you not just hear me say that we're moving o New York?" Dad asked me like I was crazy.
"WE'RE MOVING AND YOU DIDN'T EVEN THINK TO TELL ME?" I demanded very angry with my father.
"Why did you think I made you pack all your stuff?" Dad asked me.
"I DID'T PACK ANYTHING!" I yelled confused.
"Oh, yeah, that was me!"
"Dad, what the heck! When were you going to tell me?" Josh pulled on my sleeve trying to get me to sit down again but I shoved him off.
"After we were going to leave here and go down the hall and say SURPRISE!"
"This is a disaster." I said sitting down burring my face in my hands.
"No, it's not. Not really, you can still do all your same school activities, just at John Quincy Adams High." Dad said.
"You're making me leave my entire life and you didn't give me time to prepare." I said close to tears.
"Baby, don't cry..."
"Don't cry? That's all you've got? Dad, you're making me change schools in the middle of the year and asking me to forget my entire life back at Long Island. How could you do that to me?"
"Sweetie, this is a good thing for us. We'll be closer to the Matthews, and I've got a better job, I'm going to be working at the school! I'm going to be teaching English at the Middle School!"
"WHAT?"
"Yeah."
"WHAT?" I yelled turning to my uncle pleading for help.
"Well... ah... I don't know what to tell you Kiley. You know it was hard for you guys back at Long Island..." He trailed off not looking at me.
"I know what will make this better!" Topanga told us.
"Us moving back to Long Island?"
"Presents!" She shouted. I glared forcefully at my father.
"I CAN NOT believe you." I told him sadly before walking into Riley's room and sitting on her window.
"Hey." I looked up to see Cory.
"Hi."
"Let's talk about this RATIONALLY."
I stared at him before staring back out the window.
"Moving to New York is a good thing financially honey."
"Why? I'm losing my entire life! All my friends, my school, my life! Everything I have is there." I said trying not to cry.
"But think of everything you get here? Next year you'll have Maya, Riley, Lucas, and Farkle there with you!" He said trying to make things better.
"What about now? Now who do I have?"
"Is now a good time to mention that Josh is transferring schools too? To the same exact school as you?"
"Why?"
"Because it's easier for him to live with us then it is our parents. Especially if he's going to be living with his for the next six years anyways. It's better if he stars living with us now, it will make the change less scary. You guys will get to take on the world together now just like you guys used to when Shawn lived in Philadelphia."
I started to feel better now that I knew that I'd have Josh with me and I started to feel guilty that I guilty that I yelled at Dad.
"I should go apologize to Dad, shouldn't I?" Cory nodded at me giving me a hug. I hate apologizes. I'm not good at them.
"Daddy?" I whispered when he came into the bedroom with Josh, Riley and Maya. I knew they were listening the entire time.
"Yes Honey."
"I'm sorry!" I cried feeling so guilty that it made me cry.
"Sweetie, it's okay! You were just expressing your feelings. That's completely normal."
Everyone else left except Josh after I apologized to Dad.
"Looks like it's going to be me and you again." Josh said pulling me into his side, his arm around my shoulders.
"Yup, Josh and Kiley against the world!"
We laughed as we went back out to the living room to open presents.
