Chapter 14

~Cammie's POV~

I wake up Friday morning to two girls jumping on me. "Get up or you'll miss your date!" I drag myself out of bed and look at the clock, its 10:30 am. Lucas said he would be here at 11:00! "Can you guys help me get ready? Please?" "Sure!" They say at the same time. "What outfit do you want to wear?" Alexis asked. "Let's just go with something simple, maybe a white shirt and denim shorts?" "Seriously, Cam?" "Yes" I laughed. "I don't want to be over dressed." "Alright your call, but we're doing your hair." They both smiled at each other which kinda made we worry.

{20 minutes later}

I hear Riker yell that Lucas is here so I hurry down stairs trying not to fall. I hug Alex and Chris "bye! I'll be home before midnight!" They laugh and tell me bye and I'm out the door. 
Lucas is waiting at his truck. "You look beautiful" he says. "Thanks" I blushed. "Are you hungry?" He asks. "I could eat" I smile jokingly. "Perfect because I'm starving!" 
We drive to a cute cafe near the beach. Before I could open my door, Lucas was already running around the truck and opening my door. How sweet. We walk in and sit in a booth, "so are you going to school?" He asks. "Yeah I'm about to start at Cali State University, LA." "No way! I'm going there too!" "That's so cool! What are you going for?" I ask him. "Civil Engineer" "that's awesome!" I tell him. "Yeah, I guess so. How about you?" "Culinary Arts." "so you're a good cook aye?" I laugh "Not to bad." "So are there any other skills you have? Any sports?" He asks. "I played basketball for a little while but no not really." Other then my powers of course which I can't tell him about. "Well I happen to be pretty good at basketball so I'll have to challenge you to a little game of one on one!" He leans over the table with a huge smirk on his face. "Deal!" I lean over. "Don't get your hopes up on winning!" I laugh. And then the waiter comes and asks what we would like to eat, "I'll get the number four with sweet tea please" "And I'll get the number four as well, and sweet tea please."I wink at him and he just leans back and laughs.  A few minutes later the waiter comes back with out food. And in sync Lucas and I count "5, 4, 3, 2, 1, eat!" We both start stuffing our burgers in our faces, we have ketchup and mustard all over ourselves, I'm sure we look ridiculous but I don't care. "I like that you don't feel like you have to be a lady like around me, it let's me know that you feel comfortable around me." Lucas said. "I like that you know how to stuff your face." I say and we both laugh. "Come on let's get cleaned up." I say, "good idea, but first, I think you have a clean spot on your face" then he takes part of his burger and smears ketchup all over my face" "now we're ready to get cleaned up!" he laughs as I take mine and do the same. "Yes, I think we are!" "smooth, real smooth!" he laughs.

~after we've cleaned up~

"Alright where to now?" I ask. "Basketball?" He suggests making my eyes light up. "Wouldn't have it any other way!" "There is a gym just a few miles away"  he says as he opens my car door for me. "sounds good." I smile.

"So where do your parents live?" He asks. "They actually died when I was eight."  Say looking down at my hands. "Oh, I'm so sorry for asking!" "No, don't be, it was a long time ago." I reassured him.

"We're here!" He announces and opens my door for me. We walk in and I look around. "This place is huge!" I squeal. "And we have it all to ourselves." he smirks.  I go open a closet and get a cart full of basketballs. "Because I'm a girl, I have a disadvantage, so we're using a girls ball." "what?! Is that really fair?" "Nope, and that's exactly why we're going to do it!" I smirk. "Let's get to it shall we?" He says.

~30 minutes later~

"You're down by at least 5 shots, and you only have 1 minute to make them up, what are you gonna do?" Lucas says jokingly. "Hmm how about..... This?" I say as I dribble past him and get an open lay-up. "Okay so 4 shots down, 45 seconds and the ball is mine?" "Hmm...we'll see." and then he shoots a three point shot and it's a perfect swoosh. "Game over!" he smirks and walks over to the bench to get some water. "I demand a rematch in the future!" I say between breaths of air. "I'll be looking forward to it!" he says.  "So do you want to go to the beach or something?" "Absolutely!" I smile.
We go to his truck, he runs in front and opens the door for me. I get in and he goes around and gets in the drivers seat. We're finally at the beach and it's so nice and sunny out. Good thing I wore shorts and a t-shirt. We begin to walk when he splashes me with water, laughing, he takes off his shirt and runs into the water. Well, might as well, I run in after him, the wave aren't that high so without him seeing I use my powers to make the water wave a little. We splash each other for a little while but then we get out to dry off. We sit on the dry sand, bad move because it gets everywhere and sticks to wet clothing, oh well, what are we going to do about it? "I know we haven't known each other for that long, but do you want to be my girlfriend?" He asks me and I'm shocked. I mean I like him but I never thought he would ask me to be his girlfriend. "Yes, I would love to be your girl friend!"  I squeal and hug him. I look over his shoulder and see Chris and Alex hiding. I wonder if they know I saw them because I could use this against them. "Anything on your mind?" He asks. " oh, sorry I was just thinking about something." I look down blushing. "Anything important?" He looks at me. "Nope!" I say. "Hey, sorry I need to go." He says. "I'll call you!" I smile and walk towards the boardwalk. "Don't forget that rematch!" I say. " I would never forget another chance to beat you!" He yells while laughing at me. I wave goodbye and start to walk, I finally reach home when I open the door and no ones home, figures. I go up stairs and shower then I go back downstairs when I see Alex, Chris, and Riker standing by the counter talking.
