16th ♪: I'm A Coward For You

KOUSEIS P.O.V.

"Thank you for the gift!" Angelina said happily and Watari smiled. "Your welcome!" he said as she sniffed the colorful flowers and placed them on the bedside table. "That wasn't just from Watari. We all put our money on that." Tsubaki said glaring at Watari since he had tried to make it look like he bought it.

"Y-Yes it was our greatest pleasure to do s-so!" Ruby stuttered. "Still the same.." Angelina said softly and giggled. I on the other hand stood in the corner of the room not giving eye contact to anyone. Especially Angelina....definitely not Angelina...how could you look at someone in pain when you know your the one who caused it?

Angelina smiled to them and then her eyes wandered to me. My body jumped a little and I bit my lip gently. "Thank you Kousei.." she said. I licked my lips.

"Your welcome." I said. Tsubaki eyed me suspiciously but I avoided her orbs and looked away. I think I saw Angelina's face become a little upset but I couldn't face her....I just couldn't...

I was the last one that walked out Angelina's room so I closed the door. "Kousei...." Angelina's mother smiled at me. "Oh hello." I said nervously. She smiled and pulled out a white envelop out of her purse. "Here...she wanted me to give this to you. I didn't look in it just to let you know." she said.

Just like Kaori....why? Why? Why? Why?

I took it and smiled. "Thank you." she chuckled and began to walk and visit Angelina but I grabbed her wrist. She stopped and looked at me. I unzipped and dug into my schoolbag pulling out a bag that read Du Pain Frais Et Des Gateaux. The smell of sweets could be sniffed from miles away. "These are for her." I said. She took them gracefully and her smile slowly faded. "Why didn't you give them to her yourself?" she asked.

"I couldn't bring myself to. It would've been too painful."

We all walked silently to our houses together and for once I realized the bitter atmosphere that had landed now that Angelina wasn't here anymore. Her laughs and jokes could bring the whole world back to peace. But for now....we would all have to suffer.

"I hope Angelina will g-get better." Ruby said and tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear. "We all do." Watari said with a sigh. "At least I hope we all do." Tsubaki spat. "What?" Ruby said and looked at Tsubaki. I ignored her words but she wouldn't let me do that. Oh not Tsubaki...

"Aren't I right Kousei?" she asked. "Knock if off." I said and closed my eyes for a sec. Tsubakis limits were slowly disappearing and leaving me behind. "Tsubaki.." Watari said with shocked eyes. "Kousei I'm talking to you.." she said lowly.

I kept walking, actually I walked faster then before. She frowned and grabbed my arm harshly making me almost wince in burning pain. "What is it?" I asked as I quickly shifted towards her. "You know what I'm talking about! Why are you so distant from her!" she asked and yelled.

"I don't know what your talking about!" I yelled back. "You know exactly what I'm talking about!" she said back. I narrowed my eyes at her and she glared at me. What's happened to us? Has the situation at hand gotten to us both? To us all? Or...is it just me...

"T-Tsubaki! What are you doing!" Ruby asked and grabbed her arm. "Hey calm down!" Watari said frantically. Her eyes locked with mine, sending almost terrifying glares at me. You could see the anger in her eyes. "You don't talk to her when we visit her. You don't look at her. You don't even TRY to do anything with her. Why? What happened before she got injured?" she pleaded to know.

A shiver was sent down my spine and I kept my lips closed. "What happened? Why are you being such a coward!!?" she yelled. I widened my eyes and Watari gasped. "T-Tsubaki!" Ruby said.

A soft gust of wind rushed past us creating sounds almost similar to the beach through my ears.

"Your right...." I whispered. Tsubaki looked at me as well as the others. My legs turned to jelly and my breath got hastily. "I'm a coward..." I said and grabbed her shoulders leaning my head in her chest.

Her body froze and Ruby with Watari watched me with amazement.

"I'm sorry....I'm sorry for everything..its my fault that our friend is in the hospital...im sorry for doing this..I really am! I just.......if I had realized I loved her sooner...she would be with us right now. Scolding me and making us all smile. But its because of me she's not here. I'm sorry! I really am! I'm so sorry! Please forgive me! Please! I miss her! I miss her so much! I'm sorry for being a coward! I cant talk to her! It hurts to much! I just cant! I'm sorry for being such a coward!" I yelled.

My chokes and sobs interrupted parts in my words but I couldn't stop. My mouth just kept on rabbling. It rabbled so much I ended up telling them about everything. Talking with her on the rooftop, to our chat walking home, to rejecting her and to watching the beginning of her death unravel. (Anyone think of Tokyo Ghoul just now? No? Just me? Alright then.....)

"I'm sorry for being a cow-" "Stop calling yourself that!" Tsubaki said and covered my mouth. I loosened my muscles and sniffed as she pulled her hand back. "Kousei...we d-didn't now..." Ruby said slightly above a whisper.

"Your telling me." Watari said and smirked. "But I already knew you had a crush on her. I guess you just didn't realize it." he said with a cocky look. "Kousei you really love her?" Tsubaki asked with a honest smile.

I wiped some of my snot and tears away embarrassingly and slowly nodded. "So what's the first thing your going to tell her if she....no....when she recovers." she asked and put both her hands on her hips.

I stared at the three figures in front of me, the wind making them look amazing.

These figures were my friends. They would always be there with me through the good and bad and they accepted me for who I am.

There the friends that would make you say "If you guys would jump of a bridge to end your life I wouldn't jump with you. I would be at the bottom, ready to catch you and protect you."

"So what's your answer?" Tsubaki said with a wide smile.

I opened my mouth

"I love you."
