London.
I awoke in Blade's arms a few hours later. She smiled down at me.
"Morning, kitten," she cooed.
I liked her when she was like that. Sober, and happy. Not wild and dragged up.
"Hi Blade."
"How did you sleep?" She asked sweetly.
"Fine. Did you sleep?"
"No."
"Want to go out?"She looked slightly surprised.
"Honey... It's 9 at night."
"Seriously?"She cracked a broken-toothed smile.
"Yes."
"Oh, wow, um... Okay. Want to watch a movie or something?"
"Sure. You pick."
"Um... I dunno. Chick flick?"
"Redcoat..."
"Easy A?" I asked hopefully. She sighed and rolled her eyes.
"Fiiiine."
I did a small cheer, and we walked downstairs to the living room. I popped the movie in while Blade grabbed a blanket. She laid down, and I laid on top of her with the blanket over us, like we always did when watching movies. It was very comfortable. I didn't know why, but I liked her close. I felt safe.
I laid my head on her chest, and she immediately began rubbing my back. It felt good. Far too good.
I wanted to stay like that forever. Her warm skin and strong body were wonderful to lay on. It was perfect. A small part of me wanted to kiss her.
I shook my head slightly, disowning these thoughts. I can't kiss her. I'm straight. She's my best friend.
"You okay?" Blade whispered.
I nodded.
"Fine."
She continued rubbing my back, and I continued enjoying it. I still wanted to kiss her for some reason. I blamed it on my exhaustion. Of course I don't actually want that.
I closed my eyes slowly, and let the drone of the tv and the warmth of Blade lull me to sleep.
Three hours later, I felt Blade shift beneath me and whisper "I'm sorry" in my ear.
I felt her get up and tuck me in before leaving.
I fell back asleep.
