London.
Blade picked me up a few minutes after I texted her. She was dressed very nicely, for a change. I, on the other hand, had on old converse, shorts, and a t shirt. My hair was pulled up messily. She smiled at me nonetheless.
Blade sped down the back roads to the beach, not scaring me because she did it all the time. We arrived in a familiar spot.
"Are we going to the cove?" I asked excitedly.
"Yup," Blade responded with a giggle.
We walked back to our little spot, where I saw a nice picnic laid out with two candles.
"Romantic," I joked.
Blade blushed a bit.
"Sorry..." She trailed.
"No, it's ok. It's very nice."
We sat down silently and I noticed she had all my favorite foods. We began eating, with an awkward silence between us. I was tired, thinking about Ryan. I didn't like him all that much anymore.
"Should I break up with Ryan?" I asked Blade, interrupting the silence.
She stared at me for a moment.
"Yes," she said simply, "if you don't like him anymore. That is what you're implying, right?"
"Yeah... I guess..."
"Then, yes. Absolutely."I smiled and went back to eating. I watched Blade for a moment. I noticed how slim and strong she was. Her silly smooth hair fell around her face perfectly. She was quite stunning. She glanced up at me and smiled.
"Is there anyone you're interested in?" Blade asked, a glint in her eye.
The question took me by surprise.
"Uh, um... I mean, like, not really but um... maybe," I stumbled.
Blade leaned in towards me a bit more.
"Really?"
"Yeah. I'm just... Not sure. I don't think so."
"Alright," she smirked, leaning in a bit more.We finished our food, and sat on the blanket together, pretty close.
"What's next?" I asked her.
"I'm glad you asked."
"Oh god..."
"Hey, it's not bad. How about a movie?"
"Alright."She stood and offered me a hand to get up. I gladly accepted it, and she pulled me up. We continued holding hands as she led me out of our spot and onto the beach. It was nearly dark. We walked down the boardwalk, hand in hand, towards the little theater.
We walked up to the booth, and decided on watching a pretty dumb horror sort of movie, "Werewolves". We got a huge tub of popcorn and sat towards the back of the theater.
As the movie came on, Blade put her arm around me. I didn't think anything of it. As the movie went on, I leaned into her more and got closer, and by the end we were cuddling. It felt nice, and safe. Like it always did when we were close.
After the movie, we walked out of the theater into the pure darkness. The stars shone above us, casting a peaceful glow on the ground. Blade led me to her car, and drove me home. She walked me to my door, and gave me a big hug. I hugged her back, sort of awkwardly.
"See you tomorrow, redcoat," she called as she walked back to her car.
I smiled and slipped into my house.
