Recap: Henrie and Haifa finally get on and she accepts her bond to him.
As we walked in to the room Hear Me Now by Framing Hanley was playing in the background, soo many people where scattered around they looked normal enough but I knew each and every one of them was a vampire or vampire minion. I clutched Henries' hand tighter, I felt really anxious and wished I hadn't agreed to this. He turned around and smiled at me and whispered into my mind "calm down you'll be fine". I gave him a dirty look "yeah right". As we walked pass people. each and every person acknowledged Henrie as "Master" or "Henrie" he in return said there name and went on. He walked on to a women in a white dress at the top end of the ballroom. As we got closer I could see her face more clearly, she was a women in her 30's and had straight black hair and her dress clung to her body like a glove. Henrie stopped next to her, she turned around, her eyes were the same Blue/Green Henrie had I looked at them and they looked shockingly similar like a brother and sister.
"Henrie darling it has been to long" she said and hugged Henrie.
"Mother, it's nice to see you again" he hugged her back.
She was his mum. Well that was a shock vampires had mums, so they could be born vampires not turned.
My thoughts were broken, when Henrie touched my arm and said, " I would like you to meet Haifa, my Human"
His mum turned towards me with a speculating eye but smiled immediately, "I like her, so when's the wedding?"
WEDDING.
What wedding, I looked with wide open eyes at Henrie and he shook his head slightly, he quickly turned back to his mum, "we haven't decided yet".
" awww baby, I've been waiting for this day for many a year, you can't believe how happy I am that you finally chose someone, I can't wait to be a grandmother" she announced.
At this point I was shooting daggers at Henrie, but he was trying to avoid me, " so where's father?" he asked, he had a dad, well obviously he had a dad, but really.
" mingling I presume, you know what a people person he is. Wait I'll call him over" she stopped moving and a look of concentration crossed her face.
" he's on his way" she announced.
After a few minutes a man also in his 30's walked towards us he had a black suit on and he looked completely different from Henrie and his mother, he had Baby fine blonde hair and brilliant blue eyes. He stopped when he reached us and held out his hand to Henrie.
"son, how have you been?" he said.
" not so bad father, yourself" Henrie replied taking his dads' hand.
"ok." he replied and looked my way.
" this must be the lovely Haifa" he said eyeing the necklace around my neck, he took my hand, and laid a gentle kiss on the knuckles, I blushed.
" yes she is, we'll leave you to the party I have some business to attend to" Henrie announced, he took my hand and pulled me away I waved to both his parents and went with him. He stopped in a alcove in the far corner of the room, where we were disguised by dark.
" I'm sorry" he said.
" about what?" I asked.
He exhaled and said, "our marriage."
I just stared at him.
"please say something" he pleaded.
" what do you want me to say" I replied.
"anything, but please don't be angry with me" he announced, he looked like a boy pleading to me, this was a completely different side of his, all I had seen of him so far was the hard man who had a air of authority about him and he was afraid of nothing. But now he seemed vulnerable and defenceless.
I leaned forward and kissed him full on the lips, he seemed shocked at first but then he gave into the kiss and pushed me further into the alcove, I could feel his tongue urging my lips to open and when I gave in and parted my lips, his tongue plunged into my mouth and explored ever corner and crevice of my mouth. Finally what felt like a millennia I broke the kiss and leaned forward into him, at that moment I knew I had some sort of connection like spiritually with this man/vampire and would do anything for him. He hugged me closer and kissed the top of my head, I could feel his warm breath on my ear. I let go unwillingly and looked up into his eyes. He had the most beautiful eyes I had ever seen and all I wanted was to wake up to them for the rest of my life.
"what?" he asked.
"nothing just contemplating what it would be like to wake up next to you everyday" I said.
He laughed, "well you won't have to contemplate if you agree to marry me"
I felt a little uneasy, did I want to get married? I let go of him and walked a little back for some breathing space.
" What's wrong?" he asked.
I let out a sigh and looked him straight in the eyes, "Henrie I can't get married"
He just stared at me and a look of confusion plaster on his face "what do you mean you can't get married?"
"I'm only 19, Henrie I can't get married, you may have had your whole life to mull over this but I haven't, I can't get married at 19 I'm just to young" I announced, my heart was telling me too say yes and marry him but my brain was saying no.
"but that might be a problem now that we've come out in public" he said.
"look I don't even know you, I can't marry someone who I only met a week ago" I declared.
The people closest to us tuned to look at us, I looked back up to Henries' face and he looked very melancholy, I felt tears welling up I my eyes I saw the entrance of the room I stormed through the crowd to get to it, once I was out of there I took a left and walked down a derelict corridor and went into a room that was empty, it was a office/bedroom. I sat down on the bed and cried, I really wanted to say yes but I couldn't, how could I get married and to a vampire. I didn't even know they existed a week ago. Why is this happening to me. I laid down on the bed and drifted off.
